The present invention is a dropper bottle assembly (30) with a dispensing closure (34) having a base (48) adapted to be secured to the bottle 32) and an elongated dropper spout (64) extending from the base (48) to a distal open end (72) and with a separate cap (36, 236) defining a cavity (76) sized to receive the spout (64) therein wherein the cap (36, 236) and closure (34) share cooperating hinge (80, 84) and lock structures (130, 132, 264) for pivotably mounting the cap (36, 236) about a fixed axis and locking the cap (36, 236) closed with the spout opening (72) closed off. The lock (130) and hinge (84) structure are formed on the spout (64) below the opening (72) thereof but spaced from the closure base (48). The lock mechanism includes a lock arm (134) on the closure spout and a lock edge (132,264) at or near the distal end (134) of a front wall portion or tab (136, 244) extending from the cap top with zones of flexibility (160, 240, 242) defined by side slots (160) or thinned-out hinge segments (240, 242) to allow the distal edge (134) to flex away from the lock arm (134) when the cap (36, 236) sides (164, 250) are squeezed to facilitate opening the cap. The spout is sealed by a surface (170) of the cap or a compliant mat (174) on that surface, the latter being held in place by one or more ribs (178, 252) within the cap (36, 236).

A dropper bottle assembly with a dispensing closure having a base adapted to be secured to the bottle and an elongated dropper spout extending from the base to a distal open end and with a separate cap defining a cavity sized to receive the spout therein wherein the cap and closure share cooperating hinge and lock structures for pivotably mounting the cap about a fixed axis and locking the cap closed with the spout opening closed off. The lock and hinge structure are formed on the spout below the opening thereof but spaced from the closure base. The lock mechanism includes cooperating teeth and an index finger or a cooperating spring-arm and a grip bar. The spout is sealed by a surface of the cap or a compliant mat on that surface, the latter being held in place by a rib within the cap.

A plastic hydrometer of the constant mass variable displacement type. The hydrometer includes a separate bulbous section, stem and cap. The bulbous section is a single piece molded part having an upper end which mates with the lower end of the extruded tube.

A container and cap assembly comprising a receiving container and a cap for engagement therewith. Engagement means is provided for quick assembly or disassembly of the cap from the container which comprises at least two recesses in the cylindrical outer wall of the lower end of the cap for receiving corresponding locking pins on the cylindrical wall of the container. The recesses each comprise a first receiving portion and a locking portion. The locking pins each have a substantially elongated outer configuration with respect to longitudinal axis of the container.

Container and cap assembly

A pressure filter assembly having a bleed valve assembly for releasing trapped gas from with the filter chamber in a controlled manner. The bleed valve assembly includes a stem secured to the filter assembly having a bore therethrough for communication with the filter chamber and a cap for controlling the release of trapped gas within the filter chamber. The cap has a plunger with a contact surface which mates with a portion of the inside surface of the stem bore and an extension which fits with a narrow portion of the bore.

A plastic bottle closure assembly comprising a plastic bottle having a threaded neck portion, a closure for engagement with the neck portion and a sealing plug. The sealing plug has an annular mating surface designed to engage an annular planer mating surface of the neck portion. The closure is provided with annular rib for engaging the plug so as to cause the inner mating surface of the plug to engage the mating section of neck portion of the bottle.

A plastic filter assembly having an upper receiving container and a lower receiving container. Either the top or bottom container is provided with at least two recesses for receiving a locking pin in the container not having recesses. The recess has a first receiving portion and a locking portion. The locking pin has an angled engaging surface inclined with respect to longitudinal axis of the container.

Test tube rack

A single-piece, injection molded rack for holding test tubes or similar articles and a mold for producing the same. In a preferred three-tiered form, the intermediate tier is a lattice defined by the intersection of two superposed sets of parallel bars. These two sets of bars are formed by two pairs of correspondingly channeled slides that cooperatively engage to form a portion of the mold cavity corresponding to the lattice. The channels in each set of slides are aligned with the path of movement of the slides to permit their sliding, uniaxial movement relative to the molded bars. To further enable this sliding movement between mold segments and the molded rack, the connecting supports between the top tier and the intermediate tier are provided on the sides of the rack, while the connecting supports between the intermediate tier and the bottom tier are provided on the front and rear of the rack. With this arrangement, the slides that form the lattice of the intermediate tier are free to slide, as well, along the inner surfaces of the supports, which they also help to form.
