A video conference is established between a first video device and a second video device. The first video device captures a first participant's images in the video conference. The first participant's image is also captured as part of the video conference via the second video device (i.e., there are duplicate images of the first participant's image being captured). The first participant's image is detected as being captured by the first video device and the second video device in the video conference. For example, the duplicate images can be determined based on facial recognition. In response to detecting that the first participant's image is being captured by the first video device and the second video device in the video conference, the process automatically forbears from displaying at least one of the first participant's image captured by the first and second video devices.

System and method for not displaying duplicate images in a video conference

A method is disclosed that coordinates the presentation of speech signals and screen images to a receiver of a call, without some of the costs, disadvantages, and limitations of techniques in the prior art. The illustrative embodiment of the present invention builds upon the infrastructure of the Session Initiation Protocol (or 'SIP') to distribute and transfer calls to agents who are associated with a call center or contact center system. A server-based system is used in conjunction with call distribution based on SIP to replace some desktop and agent computer/telephony integration arrangements, thereby providing first-party call control. Customer-related information is embedded in the call transfer itself; as a result, the display of the customer-related information occurs at the agent's telecommunications terminal at the same time the call arrives.

A switching system adjunct () monitors a call between a calling and a called party and reestablishes the call when one of the parties has been or is being dropped. The reestablishment may be effected to a same or a different phone number of the dropped party, and may be effected via the same or a different medium (e.g., wired or wireless). The call record of the original call is merged into the call record of the reestablished call, thus preserving the context of entities involved in the call that exists at the time that the party is dropped.
