The invention relates to a thin, nano-structured coating that provides optical light efficiency enhancement. The dried coating contains nano-structures that provide a very low haze level of less than 2 percent, and a light transmission improvement of at least 1% over the non-coated substrate. For the nano-structured coating on an acrylic substrate the transmission is greater than 93 percent, and preferably greater than 94 percent. The coatings of the invention are especially useful for optical electronic displays and photovoltaic modules.

The invention relates to an aqueous fluoropolymer, and preferably polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF), composition for manufacturing electrodes for use in non-aqueous-type electrochemical devices, such as batteries and electric double layer capacitors. The composition contains aqueous PVDF binder, and one or more powdery electrode-forming materials. In one embodiment, the composition is free of fluorinated surfactant In another embodiment, one or more fugitive adhesion promoters are added. The electrode formed from the composition of the invention exhibits interconnectivity and irreversibility that is achieved from the use of aqueous PVDF binder.

Aqueous polyvinylidene fluoride composition

The invention relates to compositions of polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) and its copolymers that have been modified with an onium salt. The PVDF compositions exhibit an increased melting point, a reduced heat distortion and piezo properties. The improved properties can be further enhanced through annealing, and/or the addition of nanoclays. Additionally, the combination of PVDF, nanoclays and annealing can also produce a PVDF with an increased melting point and piezoelectric properties.

The invention relates to an aqueous-based fluoropolymer coating that is especially useful for use over flat or low-slope flexible surfaces, and more specifically for flat or low-slope roofing. The coating can be factory or field applied. The coating offers the advantages of improved durability, lower dirt pick-up, stain resistance, water repellency, increased solar reflectivity duration, and mildew resistance.
