Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, for content presentation. In one aspect, a method includes receiving a request for a content item to be presented to a user; for a collection of content items, identifying one or more candidate content items including using image keywords derived from images associated with the user to identify the one or more candidate content items; selecting a content item responsive to the content request from the candidate content items; and sending the selected content item for presentation to the user.

Image recognition based content item selection

Systems and methods of selecting content based on image data are provided. A system can receive an image captured by a camera of the computing device. The system can analyze the image to identify a pattern that matches a predetermined pattern of an object stored in an image pattern database comprising a plurality of predetermined patterns of objects. The system can identify one or more image keywords from the image based on the predetermined pattern of the object that matches the image. The system can select, based on a comparison of the one or more image keywords with one or more keywords of each of a plurality of content items, a content item. The system can provide, to the computing device, the content item to cause the computing device to present the content item.

Image recognition-based content item selection

Various methods, systems, and computer program products are disclosed for communicating location-based digital components to a mobile and other devices. A natural language processor component can parse an input audio signal to identify a request and a keyword. A content selector can select digital components based on keyword and request. An audio signal generator component can generate an output signal that includes a selected digital components. An interface can transmit the output signal to cause a client computing device to drive a speaker to generate an acoustic wave corresponding to the output signal prior to occurrence of at least one of the first action and the second action.

Sequence dependent or location based operation processing of protocol based data message transmissions

Systems and methods for pre-loading and displaying intervening content, such as advertisements, on a mobile device during latency periods, such as when an advertiser landing page is requested by that device, are provided herein. Intervening content may be pre-loaded on to the device and associated with one or more particular advertisements such that selecting/interacting with the associated advertisement triggers intervening content display during known or detected periods of latency. In some cases, a latency threshold or thresholds may determine one or more types of content to present, and/or a content presentation sequence.

A computer program product has a computer-readable storage medium having computer program instructions embodied therein for performing a method for implementing a privacy policy for a user. The method may include the user developing rules that determine whether another user (requester) can access information related to the user. The rules may be stored in a database coupled to a server and evaluated when a request is received from the requester to access the information. If a rule is satisfied by the requester, the server can return the information to the requester. The information can be returned at a level of granularity specified by the user in the satisfied rule. A privacy level can be set by the user to allow access to requesters based on the rules or to deny access to any requesters.

User privacy framework

Systems and methods for identifying device location are provided. The method can include providing, by a mobile computing device, at least a first ultrasonic signal to a first and a second self-organizing beacon device. The method can include receiving, by the mobile computing device, a first radio frequency signal including the location of the first beacon device and a second radio frequency signal including the location of the second beacon device. The method can further include determining a first time-of-flight associated with the first beacon device and a second time-of-flight associated with the second beacon device. The method can include determining a location of the mobile computing device based at least in part on the first time-of-flight, the second time-of-flight, the location of the first beacon device, and the location of the second beacon device.

Self-organizing hybrid indoor location system

A system and method of determining a keep-alive interval for a network access point (AP) employs adaptive learning and crowd sourced data building to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of mobile device connectivity. In particular, in addition to allowing group accessed storage of resolved keep-alive intervals for specific APs, the disclosed principles provide a mechanism for resolving the keep-alive interval for any AP upon first encounter, allowing devices to maintain connectivity during a session without consuming bandwidth unnecessarily by sending superfluous keep-alive messages.

Adaptive crowdsourced keep-alive interval determination

For separating carbon dioxide (CO) from a gas stream, a substantially moisture free gas stream is produced using a first temperature swing adsorption (TSA), a first pressure swing adsorption (PSA), a first vacuum swing adsorption (VSA), membrane separation, a first absorption, or any combination thereof. COis captured from the substantially moisture free gas stream and substantially dry COdepleted stream is produced using a second TSA, a second PSA, a second VSA, or a second absorption with a non-aqueous solvent with or without a chemical reaction. Adsorbents and/or absorbents used during moisture removal are regenerated using the substantially dry COdepleted stream. Purifying a gas stream containing COand impurities includes producing a stream substantially depleted of moisture and impurities using a physical or reactive adsorbent, thermally regenerating the adsorbent to produce a stream substantially enriched in impurities, and removing impurities from the stream substantially enriched in impurities.

Carbon dioxide recovery

Apparatus and method for transferring promotional messages to a mobile communication device. A promotional message is generated for display on a mobile communication device. The promotional message is associated with an entity having a physical location. The promotional message has a plurality of different types of content each associated with a different distance between the mobile communication device and a physical location of the entity. The generated promotional message is thereafter stored in a memory. A controller selects and transfers the promotional message to the mobile communication device responsive to a detected distance between the mobile communication device and the physical location. The transferred promotional message displays, on the device, a selected one of the different types of content corresponding to the detected distance.

A wearable device in one embodiment includes a motion detection sensor, an alarm clock and a sleep monitor operatively coupled to the motion detection sensor and the alarm clock. The sleep monitor monitors a person during sleep by collecting motion detection sensor data at a first data collection rate and determines a sleep state of the person based on the collected motion detection sensor data at the first data collection rate. If the sleep monitor detects that the alarm clock has entered a snooze mode, then the first data collection rate is increased to a second data collection rate and motion detection sensor data is collected at the second data collection rate while the alarm clock system in the snooze mode.
