A flexible digital radiographic detector assembly includes a flexible sleeve enclosing a photosensor array supported by a flexible substrate. Integrated circuit readout electronics are coupled to the photosensor array and to a circuit board having conductive contacts. The contacts engage a hand carried read out electronics box to initiate a read out of image data captured in the photosensor array and to display the image data on a screen in the read out electronics box.

Radiographic detector readout

A flexible digital radiographic detector assembly uses a conformable bag having granular media therein to enclose the detector and to help fit the detector onto a curved object. The conformable bag is evacuated to hold the detector against the object to be imaged. An image of the object is acquired by aiming x-rays through the object toward the detector.

Conformable x-ray sensor panel

A digital radiographic image sensor includes a flexible first substrate with an image sensor array. A scintillator is formed over the array, and bonding pads in a peripheral region outside the array are connected to the array. A second substrate is attached to a bottom of the first substrate and includes a scribed or perforated break line to enable removal of a peripheral region of the second substrate.

Flexible substrate module and fabrication method

An image sensor array formed on a flexible first substrate is supported by a flexible second substrate attached thereto. The second substrate has a top surface with an adhesive thereon for attaching the substrates together. The adhesive is on a portion of the second substrate directly beneath the image sensor array to allow selective formation of the second substrate.

A digital radiographic detector uses an IGZO active layer in the switching element for each imaging pixel in a two-dimensional array of imaging pixels. Each imaging pixel has a photo-sensitive element and the switching element. Read-out circuits electrically connected to the two-dimensional array generate a radiographic image by reading out image data by switching on and off the switching elements. The IGZO active layer may be formed having a thickness less than about 7 nm.

Embodiments of radiographic imaging systems; digital radiography detectors and methods for using the same can include radiographic imaging pixel unit cells that can include a plurality of N pixel elements that each include a photoelectric thin-film conversion element connected in-series to a conversion thin-film switching element, a conductor connected to the plurality of N pixel elements and an output switching element connected between the conductor and an imaging array output. Scan lines or row lines can extend in a first direction coupled to more than one pixel unit cell and data lines or column lines can extend in a second direction coupled to more than one pixel unit cell.

Radiographic detector including block address pixel architecture, imaging apparatus and methods using the same

An image sensor includes a two-dimensional array of pixels having multiple column outputs and an output circuit connected to each column output. Each output circuit is configured to operate concurrent sample and read operations. An analog front end (AFE) circuit processes pixel data output from the output circuits and an AFE clock controller transmits an AFE clocking signal to the AFE circuit to effect processing of the pixel data. A timing generator outputs a column address sequence that is received by a column decoder. During one or more sample operations the timing generator suspends the column address sequence and subsequently during the one or more sample operations the AFE clock controller suspends the AFE clocking signal. The AFE clocking signal and the column address sequence resume at the end of the one or more sample operations.

Pausing column readout in image sensors

An image sensor includes a two-dimensional array of pixels having multiple column outputs and an output circuit connected to each column output. Each output circuit is configured to operate concurrent sample and read operations. An analog front end (AFE) circuit processes pixel data output from the output circuits and an AFE clock controller transmits an AFE clocking signal to the AFE circuit to effect processing of the pixel data. A timing generator outputs a column address sequence that is received by a column decoder. During one or more sample operations the AFE clock controller suspends the output of the AFE clocking signal and the timing generator suspends the output of the column address sequence during the sample operation. The output of the AFE clocking signal and the column address sequence resume at the end of the sample operation.

Suspending column readout in image sensors

An image sensor includes a two-dimensional array of pixels having multiple column outputs and an output circuit connected to each column output. Each output circuit is configured to operate concurrent sample and read operations. A timing generator outputs a column address sequence that is received by a column decoder that is electrically connected to each output circuit. The timing generator suspends the output of the column address sequence during a sample operation and resumes the output of the column address sequence at the end of the sample operation.
