Systems, apparatuses and methods may provide for technology that sends a first message via an input output (IO) link, wherein the first message includes a first rendering asset and an identifier (ID) associated with the first rendering asset. The technology may also exclude a second rendering asset from a second message in response to the ID being shared by the first rendering asset and the second rendering asset and send the second message via the IO link, wherein the second message includes the ID. In one example, the ID is a hash ID.

Apparatus and methods related to image taking and processing are provided. For example, some embodiments may contain a front facing camera and a back facing camera and can be used for including the image-taker as part of the images taken by the image-taker, for verifying authorship of the image, for creating documentary style still or moving images combining the images of the person creating the documentary and the images of the subject or the scene being documented, and for creating a wide field of views of still and moving images.

As more internet service providers have more customers with high-speed internet access accounts and these customers access more multi-media rich data (such as videos), the network infrastructure of internet service providers becomes saturated. Thus, internet service providers are facing pressure to upgrade their networks. Thus, internet service providers need to optimize the usage of their existing networks. To optimize the usage of existing networks, a system of performing predictive downloading for data caches is proposed. The system for performing predictive downloading examines network traffic conditions and does not issue predictive download requests if the network is busy. By restricting predictive downloads to times when the network is not busy, the system utilizes an under used resource. Accurate predictions will reduce future network traffic. Incorrect predictions cause no harm since the transfers only occur when free network bandwidth is available.

An electronic system, an integrated circuit and a method for display are disclosed. The electronic system contains a first device, a memory and a video/audio compression/decompression device such as a decoder/encoder. The electronic system is configured to allow the first device and the video/audio compression/decompression device to share the memory. The electronic system may be included in a computer in which case the memory is a main memory. Memory access is accomplished by one or more memory interfaces, direct coupling of the memory to a bus, or direct coupling of the first device and decoder/encoder to a bus. An arbiter selectively provides access for the first device and/or the decoder/encoder to the memory based on priority. The arbiter may be monolithically integrated into a memory interface. The decoder may be a video decoder configured to comply with the MPEG-2 standard. The memory may store predicted images obtained from a preceding image.

Electronic system and method for selectively allowing access to a shared memory

Thus, internet service providers are facing pressure to upgrade their networks. However, high-speed digital networking equipment is expensive. Thus, internet service providers need to optimize the usage of their existing networks. To optimize the usage of existing networks, a system of delaying certain data requests is proposed. By delaying certain data requests, the various components in a network can shift data transfers from peak traffic times to lower traffic times. One useful application of delayed requests is the case in which a web client requests data ahead of schedule either through predictive methods or through subscriptions for desired data.

An electronic system provides direct access between a first device and a decoder/encoder and a memory. The electronic system can be included in a computer in which case the memory is a main memory. Direct access is accomplished through one or more memory interfaces. Direct access is also accomplished in some embodiments by direct coupling of the memory to a bus, and in other embodiments, by direct coupling of the first device and decoder/encoder to a bus. The electronic system includes an arbiter for determining access for the first device and/or the decoder/encoder to the memory for each access request. The arbiter may be monolithically integrated into a memory interface of the decoder/encoder or the first device. The decoder may be a video decoder configured to decode a bit stream formatted to comply with the MPEG-2 standard. The memory may store predicted images which are obtained from a single preceding image and may also store intra images. Bidirectional images which are directly supplied to a display adapter may be obtained from two preceding intra or predicted images.

Circuits and methods for subdividing a decoder into functional blocks that can be accessed separately. The decoder includes a decoder module having a parser, a block decoder and a motion compensation engine, which can all be further subdivided into functional blocks. The functional blocks can be bypassed in decompressing frames where the blocks are not necessary, or when the compression algorithm does not require the functional block, increasing the speed of the decoder. The functional blocks can also be reused for decompression or compression based on different standards, or for different operation in the decoder, such as decompression and compression. The decoder can be coupled to a processor and some of the functional block performed in the decoder's hardware and some are performed in the processor. In one embodiment of the invention and the processor determines which block are to be by-passed completely and which block are to be performed in software based on the decompression protocol to which the compressed frame is encoded to comply to, the capacity and speed of the processor, and the available memory. In another embodiment multiplexers can be added to the decoder to connect functional blocks so they can be by-passed or reused based on preprogramming of the multiplexers based on the decompression protocol to which the compressed frame is encoded to comply to, the capacity and speed of the processor, and the available memory.
