Disclosed are a system and method of remotely providing diagnostic procedures to a processing system. Upon being launched on a processing system, an agent process may receive data to provide one or more diagnostic procedures from a data network coupled to the processing system. One or more of the diagnostic procedures may then be executed to provide diagnostic results.

Remote diagnostics system

A system and method of using of diagnostic procedures through a firmware interface in a processing system are described. A first physical area of a memory may store one or more diagnostic modules comprising machine-readable instructions for performing one or more diagnostic procedures of a processing system. A second physical area of the memory may store an operating system capable of initiating execution of the one or more diagnostic procedures through the firmware interface.

Operating system independent

Disclosed are a system and method of launching an operating system on a processing system. A firmware interface may be initially launched on a processing system. The firmware interface may comprise logic to attempt launching an operating system on the processing system. Upon detection that the attempt is unsuccessful, the processing system may be automatically reset.
