Disclosed is an apparatus for destroying the operational aspects and electronic media of a Solid State Drive (SSD) yet maintaining the physical shape of the SSD for identification. The apparatus includes a crusher box having counter-rotating rollers that are intermeshed to provide a high speed feed of an SSD wherein teeth formed on the rollers render the electron media non-accessible and impart a distinctive waffle like appearance for ease of identifying destroyed SSD's. A VFD-PID controller is used to vary the speed of an electric motorwith the PID having a feedback signal that allows for various target values to be set.

Solid state drive media destroyer

A method and apparatus for use in destroying a data storage device and separating materials for recycling. The apparatus employs: a first stage of rough cutting wherein the data storage device is shredded into pieces approximately 30 mm&#xd7;30 mm; a second stage that separates shredded metal material, such as spindles, from non-metal material by use of a magnetized roller having a scraper to the metal material to a first bin and non-metal material to a third stage having an upper level shredder and a lower level shredder for grinding the non-metal material into particle sizes of 10 mm&#xd7;10 mm or less.

Method and apparatus for HDD and electronic waste disposal

A security bin formed from a commercially available rectangular plastic bin having removable lids that are secured to the bin to prevent unauthorized access to the items placed therein. The lids are locked with a tamperproof flap and latching hook to prevent access to the bin contents. Plexiglass windows allow viewing of materials placed within the bin. Spring pins allow ease of lid movement for access to the bin contents, or allow removal of the windows to allow stacking for storage and shipping. An optional scanner can be mounted to one of the lids for recording and tracking of storage media placed within the bin.

Security bin

A verification apparatus securable to a media destruction device to document sanitization processes. The apparatus includes a SSD disk inlet, an SSD disk outlet constructed and arranged to align with an opening to the media destruction device, and a SSD disk ejection outlet. A carrier drum having a receptacle for holding the SSD disk in a first position, rotatable to a second position for placement of the SSD disk in front of a scanner camera, rotatable to a third position for aligning the SSD disk to a media destruction device inlet if the media disk was properly scanned, and rotatable to a fourth position for aligning the SSD disk to the ejection outlet if the media disk was not properly scanned. Pseudo random codes are transmitted and received during a sanitization procedure to assure the SSD disk has sanitized without interruption.

Media destruction verification apparatus

A single magnetic pulse degaussing apparatus for use in erasing information contained on magnetic recording or storage media. A degaussing chamber for receipt of magnetic forces above 2.0 Tesla is accessible by upper and lower rotary actuated doors. The internal flux of a coil is measured by the current passing through the coil during the discharge cycle to provide a flux versus time measurements. The measurements are inserted into a performance verification algorithm to assure sufficient time for media destruction has taken place before releasing the media from the degaussing chamber.

Single pulse degaussing device with rotary actuated chamber access doors

A device to reduce solid state drives (SSD) and the like digital media storage devices into particles less than 2 mm maximum edge length. The device is particularly adapted to disintegrating 1.8&#x2033; and 2.5&#x2033; solid state drives at a rate of about 360 HDD/hr or 720 SSD/hr with a throughput of about 10 seconds. A blade assembly is designed to provide multiple cutting angles while rotating at 520 rpm to maintain a low decibel rating.
