A wireless device () obtains a codebook that is based on a first downlink data to uplink feedback timing set () for feedback associated with multicast downlink data and a second downlink data to uplink feedback timing set () for feedback associated with unicast downlink data. A number of downlink slots associated with the codebook is determined based on a union of the first set and the second set. The wireless device transmits feedback to a network node () based on the codebook. A number of feedback bits () in the codebook for a downlink slot associated with the codebook is determined based on a union of a first Time Domain Resource Allocation, TDRA, list and a second TDRA list. The first list indicates possible allocations of symbols for a downlink shared channel for multicast. The second list indicates possible allocations of symbols for a downlink shared channel for unicast.

HARQ feedback codebook for multicast and unicast

Embodiments include methods, performed by a user equipment (UE), for hybrid ARQ (HARQ) feedback in relation to multicast transmissions from a network node in a radio access network (RAN). Such methods include receiving, from the network node, first downlink control information (DCI) scheduling a first multicast transmission associated with the UE and determining a HARQ feedback mode for the first multicast transmission. Such methods also include, based on the first DCI, attempting to decode the first multicast transmission; and selectively transmitting HARQ feedback related to the first multicast transmission to the network node based on the determined HARQ feedback mode and on whether the attempt to decode is successful or unsuccessful. Embodiments also include complementary methods for a network node, as well as UEs and network nodes configured to perform such methods.

Hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) mechanism for multicast in NR

Systems and methods for broadcast/multicast transmission in a distributed cell-free massive Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) network are disclosed. In one embodiment, a method for broadcasting/multicasting data to User Equipments (UEs) comprises, at each Access Point (AP) of two or more APs, obtaining long-term Channel State Information (CSI) for a UE(s) and communicating the long-term CSI for the UE to a central processing system. The method further comprises, at the central processing system, receiving the long-term CSI for the UE from each AP, computing a precoding vector (w) for the UE(s) across the APs based on the long-term CSI, and communicating the precoding vector (w) to the APs. The method further comprises, at each AP, obtaining the precoding vector (w) from the central processing system, precoding data to be broadcast/multicast to the UE(s) based on the precoding vector (w), and broadcasting/multicasting the precoded data to the UE(s).

Broadcast and multicast transmission in a distributed massive MIMO network

A method, system and apparatus are disclosed. According to one or more embodiments, a network node is provided. The network node includes processing circuitry configured to receive channel state information, CSI, from each of a plurality of wireless devices and determine at least one null space based on the received CSI from each of the plurality of wireless devices. The processing circuitry is further configured to determine a common precoding matrix index, PMI, where a common beamforming vector is not in the at least one null space and cause a multicast broadcast transmission to the plurality of wireless devices using at least the common PMI.
