A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium stores instructions to configure a base station for user equipment (UE) authentication in a wireless network and to cause the base station to perform an operation comprising decoding configuration signaling received from a PHY security function (PSF) of the wireless network. The configuration signaling includes a request for collection of a plurality of signal samples from the UE, the UE authenticated based on successful completion of a first authentication process. A response message is encoded for transmission to the PSF. The response message includes the plurality of UE signal samples. A trained machine learning model received from the PSF is decoded. The trained machine learning model associates the authenticated UE with an RF signature of the UE. The RF signature is based on the plurality of signal samples. A second authentication process of the UE is performed based on the trained model.

Adaptive and hierarchical network authentication framework

An apparatus and system to mitigate non-genuine handovers are described. The handovers include handovers based on fake measurements and handovers to malicious cells. To mitigate these, a mitigation procedure is initiated when excessive handovers are detected. Location information obtained from the UE, estimation of PHY layer properties by the serving and/or target cell, or AI modeling of the best serving cell at the UE location is used to determine whether the handover is valid. If not, the handover is canceled and the UE is stopped from initiating new handovers for a specified time, the UE may be instructed to perform re-authentication with the network, and/or the serving cell recommends to the network authentication entity to revoke the UE authentication. To ensure that the target cell is legitimate, an AI model is used to classify the target cell as known/unknown and the result sent to the network in NAS signaling.

Physical layer techniques to mitigate the handover process vulnerabilities

Methods, apparatus circuitry, and storage media are described for mobile-terminated packet transmissions. In one embodiment, an apparatus of a control plane device configured to operate within an evolved packet network core identifies a first service flow event trigger associated with a first packet data unit (PDU) session and processes a path reselection for a first PDU session in response to the first service flow event trigger, wherein the path reselection determines a new gateway for the first PDU session resulting from the path reselection. Transmission of a change notification to an application server controller associated with the first PDU session is initiated in response to the path reselection. Transmission of a routing update to the new gateway in response to the path reselection is also initiated. In various embodiments, the trigger may be a mobility event, a load balancing event, or operations in association with an application server controller.

Mobile-terminated packet transmission

A computing node to implement a management entity in a CP-based network. The node including processing circuitry configured to encode an inquiry message requesting information on CPS capabilities. Response messages are received from a set of sensing nodes of a plurality of sensing nodes in response to the inquiry message. A notification message indicating selecting of a sensing node as a sensing coordinator is encoded for transmission. In one embodiment, an apparatus of an access point (AP) node of a network includes an interconnect interface to connect the apparatus to one or more components of the AP node and a processor to: access scheduling requests from a plurality of devices, select a subset of the devices for scheduling of resource blocks in a time slot, and schedule wireless resource blocks in the time slot for the subset of devices using a neural network (NN) trained via deep reinforcement learning (DRL).

For example, a wireless communication device may be configured to, based on a grouping criterion, select from a plurality of STAs a group of two or more STAs for a Trigger-Based (TB) Multi-User (MU) UL OFDMA control frame transmission to be communicated from the group of two or more STAs to the wireless communication device, the grouping criterion based on two or more RSSI values corresponding to the two or more STAs, respectively; to transmit a trigger frame to trigger the TB MU UL OFDMA control frame transmission, the trigger frame including two or more STA Identifiers to identify the two or more STAs, respectively; and to process the TB MU UL OFDMA control frame transmission from the group of two or more STAs, the TB MU UL OFDMA control frame transmission including two or more control frames from the two or more STAs, respectively.

Apparatus, system and method of trigger-based (TB) multi-user (MU) uplink (UL) orthogonal-frequency-division-multiple-access (OFDMA) control frame transmission

Embodiments described herein relate generally to a communication between a user equipment ('UE') and a plurality of evolved Node Bs (“eNBs”). A UE may be adapted to operate in a dual connected mode on respective wireless cells provided by first and second eNBs. The UE may be adapted to estimate respective power headroom (“PHR”) values associated with simultaneous operation on the first and second wireless cells. The UE may cause the first and second PHR estimates to be transmitted to both the first and second eNBs. The first and second eNBs may use these estimates to compute respective uplink transmission powers for the UE. Other embodiments may be described and/or claimed.

Power headroom reporting with dual connectivity

A 3GPP LTE protocol enhancement realizes the full benefit of discontinuous reception (DRX) in Long Term Evolution networks by coordinating and aligning DRX operations for conserving power and timing overhead. A dual connectivity enabled User Equipment (UE) comprising a processor and transceiver is configured to align DRX configuration between counterpart Evolved Node Bs (eNB)s, wherein counterpart eNBs are a Master eNB (MeNB) and a Secondary eNB (SeNB) simultaneously connected to the UE, communicate system frame timing and system frame number (SFN) information between the counterpart eNBs, align DRX start offset (drxStartOffset) values for the counterpart eNBs according to the communicated system frame timing and SFN information to compensate for offsets in system frame timing, and allow the start of a DRX ON duration at specific frame or sub-frame times determined by the drxStartOffset values, after the expiration of a DRX inactivity timer.

Discontinuous reception alignment in dual connectivity networks

Techniques for random access (RA) in a cellular internet-of-things (CIOT) are discussed. An example apparatus configured to be employed within a User Equipment (UE), comprises a receiver circuitry, a processor, and transmitter circuitry. The receiver circuitry is configured to receive RA resource allocation information via one of a system information message or a downlink control information (DCI) message. The processor is operably coupled to the receiver circuitry and configured to: select a RA preamble sequence; generate a payload; and spread the payload via a spreading sequence. The transmitter circuitry is configured to transmit, based on the RA resource allocation information, a RA message comprising the RA preamble sequence and the payload, wherein the RA message is transmitted in a RA slot. The receiver circuitry is further configured to receive a response comprising a device identity of the UE and one of an uplink (UL) grant or a RA reject message.

Various systems and methods for implementing random access channel security are described herein. An apparatus for a base station includes: receiver circuitry to receive at the base station, a signal from a user equipment (UE) transmitter to access resources of the base station; statistics circuitry to calculate high-order statistics on the signal to produce an identification indication; a memory device to store the high-order statistics and the identification indication; and processing circuitry to: associate the identification indication with the UE transmitter; use the identification indication to determine that multiple failures of a random access channel (RACH) process have occurred from the UE transmitter; and restrict later attempts by the UE transmitter to perform RACH processes with the base station.
