A filter device collects and stores brake particles generated by a friction brake. The filter device can be regenerated. The filter device determines that at least one boundary condition that makes it possible and/or permits the execution of regeneration of the filter device is met. In response to the determination, brake particles stored in the filter device are to be removed from the filter device.

Method and control unit for regenerating a brake dust filter

A device of a friction brake includes a collection container. Brake particles in an airflow coming from the friction brake are filterable by the device and the brake particles are collectable in the collection container. Collected brake particles are processable by the device such that an amount of respirable brake particles in the collected brake particles is reduced.

The underbody panelling part can be pivoted about the first mounting point when the wheel carrier is pivoted. A subassembly having the underbody panelling part is also provided.
