According to an aspect, one or more network nodes of a wireless communication system sends, to a wireless device operating in the wireless communication system, mobility reference signal (MRS) configuration information, the MRS configuration information specifying one or more parameters for each of a plurality of MRS configurations. The network node subsequently sends, to the wireless device, an activation command indicating that at least a first one of the MRS configurations is to be used by the wireless device, the activation command including an index identifying the first one of the MRS configurations from among the plurality of MRS configurations. The wireless device receives the MRS configuration information and the activation command. The wireless device searches for at least one MRS specified by the first one of the MRS, responsive to the activation command and performs at least one measurement on the at least one MRS.

According to certain embodiments, a method by a first network node is provided for enabling paging of a user equipment (UE) in an inactive state. The method includes the first network node receiving a UE identity index value for the UE while the UE is in a connected state or during an initial context setup for the UE. The UE identity index value is stored. The method further includes transitioning the UE from the connected state to an inactive state and using the UE identity index value that was stored while the UE was in the connected state to initiate a transmission of a page to the UE in the inactive state.

The present disclosure relates to a network node, a network control node, a wireless device and corresponding methods for optimized broadcasting of system information messages in a wireless network. The disclosure proposes a method, performed in a wireless device, of assessing system information perception capability in a wireless network that is arranged to broadcast system information on at least two frequency carriers. The method comprises receiving (S) broadcasted system information on the at least two frequency carriers. The method also comprises determining (S), using the received broadcasted system information, frequency carrier identity correlated information for each of the at least two frequency carriers. The method further comprises reporting (S) receipt of the broadcasted system information on the at least two frequency carriers, wherein the report includes the frequency carrier identity correlated information.
