A method for use in a storage system, comprising: generating a replication configuration list for a first guest operating system, the replication configuration list identifying each of a plurality of Network Attached Storage (NAS) servers that are executed in the first guest operating system; detecting a file system failure event that is associated with a failed file system, the failed file system being associated with a data volume, the failed file system being provided by a first NAS server; identifying a file system identifier that is associated with the failed file system; detecting whether the first NAS server is replicated based on the replication configuration list; and in response to detecting that the first NAS server is replicated, performing a failover for the data volume to a second NAS server that is arranged to provide a file system for a replica of the data volume.

Autonomous system to detect and address file system unavailability or corruption

Facilitating auto enable replication for detected storage context in advanced communication networks is described. An example method includes determining, by a system comprising at least one processor, that data stored in a source system is to be replicated to a target system. The method also includes, based on historical data related to a storage context, determining, by the system, a replication policy for a replication of the data to the target system. The replication policy can include at least one rule utilized to replicate the data to a remote system. Further, the method includes, based on an acceptance of the replication policy, facilitating, by the system, the replication of the data to the target system according to the replication policy. In an example, the storage context can include a combination of information indicative of one or more parameters used to define the replication policy.

Facilitating automatic enabled replication for detected storage context in advanced communication networks

An example methodology includes monitoring a replication workflow execution on a storage system and, responsive to a detection of a failure of the replication workflow, determining whether the failure is in a Software Defined Network Attached Storage (SDNAS) or in an underlying storage array platform. The method also includes, responsive to a determination that the failure is in the SDNAS, validating health of the SDNAS for performing the replication workflow and, responsive to validating the health of the SDNAS, performing recovery of the failed replication workflow. The method further includes, responsive to a determination that the failure is in the underlying storage array platform, determining that the underlying storage array platform can be rolled back to a previously known good state for performing the replication workflow, performing a rollback of the underlying storage array platform to the previously known good state, and performing the recovery of the failed replication workflow.

Detection and recovery of platform specific replication failures in SDNAS solution on a storage system

A method comprising: detecting an event that is indicative of an error that has occurred in a first computing system; identifying a subsystem and an object that are associated with the event; identifying one or more log files that are associated with the subsystem and object; generating a first event report that is associated with the event, the first event report including the one or more log files, the first event report identifying the subsystem and the object that are associated with the event; identifying a support team that is associated with the event based on the object and subsystem; and routing the first event report to the support team.

An autonomous system for detecting primary site failure on a Replication Data Facility (RDF) and automating failover to a destination site includes a replication data facility health monitor on a destination site that monitors a plurality of health indicators of the primary site. Example health indicators include RDF session state of RDF sessions on the replication data facility, and reachability of a set of IP addresses. Example IP addresses include an IP address of a cluster master node on the primary site, IP addresses of all of the cluster nodes on the primary site, and IP addresses of Network Attached Storage (NAS) servers executing on the cluster nodes. The replication data facility health monitor generates a replication configuration and, upon detection of a failure of the replication data facility at the primary site, uses the replication configuration to automate failover of all of the NAS servers to the destination site.

Replication data facility failure detection and failover automation

A storage system includes a storage array having physical storage resources, a Software Defined Network Attached Storage (SDNAS) process running in an emulation on the storage system, a user file system having user file system data stored in the storage array that is accessed by the SDNAS process via a first Thin Logical Unit (TLU) storage volume mounted on an emulation operating system, a snapshot copy of the user file system stored in the storage array, and control logic. In some embodiments, the control logic is configured to associate a logical view of the snapshot copy of the user file system to a second TLU, mount the second TLU on the emulation operating system as a snapshot copy file system, and replay pending transactions and sub-transactions of the user file system on the snapshot copy file system to bring the snapshot copy file system to a stable state.
