In at least one embodiment, an in-vehicle system is provided that includes a transceiver system and a vehicle controller. The transceiver system may be positioned in a first vehicle and is configured to enable communication with one of a surrounding infrastructure to the first vehicle and a surrounding vehicle to the first vehicle. The vehicle controller may be positioned in the first vehicle and is programmed to transmit an electronic request, via the transceiver system, to a Customer Relationship Manager (CRM) server and to receive first information corresponding to the electronic request from the CRM server. The vehicle controller is further programmed to transmit the received first information to one a display in the first vehicle, the surrounding vehicle, and the surrounding infrastructure.

In one example, a reconfigurable display system includes a display, a moveable optic, an optical element positioned between the display and the moveable optic, a lens actuator configured to control a physical position of the moveable optic, and a display controller comprising a processor and memory, the memory storing instructions executable by the processor to control the lens actuator to move the moveable optic to a position and/or orientation that is selected based on user input and/or dynamic conditions of the reconfigurable display system, the instructions further executable to control an output of image light from the display to pass through the optical element and the moveable optic and impinge upon a transparent plane to generate a viewable image.

Embodiments are disclosed for gaze tracking with an in-vehicle computing system. In one example, an in-vehicle computing system of a vehicle includes a camera, a light source, a display, a processor, and a storage device storing instructions executable to direct light from the light source to an eye of one or more occupants of the vehicle, receive, at the camera, light reflected from the eye of the one or more occupants of the vehicle, determine a gaze direction of each of the one or more occupants of the vehicle, and operate one or more of the in-vehicle computing system and another vehicle system based on the determined gaze direction.

The input command causes articulation of the second display in order to display the selected content The input command may come from a portable device, or a user interactive command such as a voice command, a visual command such as a gesture, or a touch command. The input command may also come from a vehicle system, such as a navigation system, an infotainment system, a climate control system to name a few.

A display device includes a planar array of blue light-emitting diodes (LEDs) that are each configured to generate a blue output light, wherein the planar array is positioned parallel to a light-receiving surface of a liquid crystal module and a nanocrystal material that is disposed between the planar array and the liquid crystal module, and the liquid crystal module. The nanocrystal material is configured to: receive the blue output light, convert a first portion of the blue output light to a green light emission, convert a second portion of the blue output light to a red light emission, and transmit a remainder portion of the blue output light. The liquid crystal module is configured to generate an image that includes a portion of the green light emission, a portion of the red light emission, and a portion of the remainder portion of the blue output light.

Wide color-gamut vehicle infotainment display system with quantum dot element

A lens assembly structures and methods are described with a glass surface facing user. The lens assembly may include a retention film on a rear surface of the glass layer with the front surface being free of a safety layer. The lens assembly may include a glass layer with a front surface to be engaged by a person and a rear surface and a retention film fixed to the rear surface and is transparent. A display generator may be fixed to the retention film. A spacing layer may be fixed on the retention film around the display generator. A mask may be fixed to a rear surface of the glass beneath the retention film. A support frame may engage the spacing layer and support the display generator with the glass layer being supported by the retention film and mechanically supported by both the display generator and the frame. The front surface may be free from a retention layer.

Lens system and method

Embodiments are disclosed for an example in-vehicle computing system for a vehicle. In some embodiments, a personalized interactive experience within the vehicle is provided responsive to identification of a user in the vehicle. The user may be identified based on biometric data detection, which may include eye tracking, pupil monitoring, and head tracking in some examples. Features of the in-vehicle computing system may be selectively provided based on the identified user and/or learned data relating to the user and/or conditions of the vehicle.

Portable personalization

The present disclosure relates to touch control devices and surface wrapped control interfaces for vehicles. In one embodiment, a touch control device includes a housing assembly including an outer surface, and a touch sensor mounted to an inner surface of the housing assembly. The touch sensor includes at least one touch zone and is configured to detect contact to the outer surface of the housing assembly associated with the at least one touch zone. The touch control device may also include at least one illumination element to illuminate a portion of the outer surface of the housing assembly associated the at least one touch zone and a controller configured to illuminate at least one illumination element in response to contact with the a touch zone. The touch control device can output a control signal in response to contact with the at least one touch zone.

The various embodiments set forth a display device that includes a liquid crystal module, a nano-particle semiconductor material, and a light source that includes a blue light-emitting diode configured to generate a blue output light. The nano-particle semiconductor material is configured to receive the blue output light, convert a first portion of the blue output light to a green light emission, convert a second portion of the blue output light to a red light emission, and transmit a remainder portion of the blue output light. The liquid crystal module is configured to receive the green light emission, the red light emission, and the remainder portion of the blue output light and generate an image that includes a portion of the green light emission, a portion of the red light emission, and a portion of the remainder portion of the blue output light.

A display device includes a light source that includes a blue light-emitting diode (LED) configured to generate a blue output light; a nanocrystal material that is disposed between the light source and a liquid crystal module, and a light guide assembly. The nanocrystal material receives the blue output light, converts a first portion of the blue output light to a green light emission, converts a second portion of the blue output light to a red light emission, and transmits a remainder portion of the blue output light. The light guide assembly includes a planar light guide optically coupled to a light-receiving surface of the liquid crystal module and a curved light guide optically coupled to the planar light guide and configured to receive light from the light source and direct the light toward the planar light guide.

Embodiments are disclosed for systems and methods for operating a display actuator to provide user-configurable actions. An example device for a human-machine interface includes a display on a first surface of the device, an input interface adapted to detect one or more of touch input, rotation input, and push input directed to the device, a controller configured to generate control instructions based on input received from the input interface, the control instructions including display instructions for controlling output on the display, and an output interface configured to send at least a subset of the control instructions from the controller to a receiving device, the device being removably coupled to the receiving device.
