The present disclosure relates to a process for producing linear alpha olefins in high yield carried out by oligomerization of ethylene in the presence of a novel catalyst composition. The catalyst composition includes Zirconium compound, an organoaluminum compound, and at least one Lewis base selected from cyclic and acyclic ethers (i.e., di-n-butyl ether and diethyl ether). The process for oligomerization of ethylene is carried out in an inert organic solvent in the presence of said catalyst composition. The process as disclosed herein provides significantly high activity of the said catalyst composition resulting in high yield of the alpha olefins (>95 wt. %) as the product and significantly minimum polymer as by-product. The process provides higher yield of C6-C10 fraction with >60 wt. %.

Process and catalyst composition for producing linear alpha olefins in high yield by ethylene oligomerization

The present invention relates to a process for preparation of a catalyst for polymerization of olefins. The catalyst has a particle size of between 5 to 30 microns with activity ranging from 3-4 Kg (co)polymer per g of catalyst and excellent hydrogen response. The method for preparation of the catalyst comprises the steps of: a) contacting a liquid magnesium complex, an electron donor, and a titanium halide compound to form a solution; b) obtaining the solid uniform catalyst particles by precipitation; and c) washing the catalyst particles to obtain solid uniform catalyst., for producing (co)polymer of ethylene with other olefins have fines less than 10 wt. %.

Process for preparation of a catalyst for polymerization of olefins

The present invention provides a method for producing highly reactive polyisobutylene by liquid phase polymerization of isobutylene or isobutylene containing feed stock, wherein at least 70 mole % of polymer chains in the polyisobutylene have exo olefin end groups. Further, the present invention provides a catalyst composition for polymerization, comprising of a Lewis acid complexed with at least two Lewis bases selected from sterically hindered ether and linear dialkyl ether; or a Lewis base complexed with at least two Lewis acids selected from aluminium halides mixture. The present invention additionally provides that Lewis acid with Lewis bases mixture or Lewis base with Lewis acids mixture constituting the catalyst show synergistic effect resulting in high isobutylene conversion and production of polyisobutylene having high exo olefin content, while maintaining desired molecular weight range of 250-10000 Dalton.

Polymerization catalyst system and process to produce highly reactive polyisobutylene

The present invention describes a catalyst composition for use as a catalyst system for an ethylene oligomerization, providing high activity and produce linear oligomer product having broad weight percent distribution i.e. Cto C. The catalyst composition comprises a zirconium amide compound, an organoaluminum compound and an additive. The present invention also provides a process for preparation of the zirconium amide compound comprising reacting a zirconium component having formula ZrX.nTHF, wherein X is halogen atom; m is an integer having value equal or less than 4 and n is a number equal or less than 2, and a substituted amide of formula RCONR'R&#x2033;, wherein R, R&#x2032; and R&#x2033; are saturated or unsaturated aliphatic C-Chydrocarbon or aromatic C-Chydrocarbon, in the presence of an organic solvent.

Process for preparation of ethylene oligomerization catalyst and oligomerization thereof

The present invention provides an external electron donor composition comprising essentially of monoether as activity limiting agent for polymerization of olefins along with alkoxy silane as selectivity controlling agent, wherein mole percentage of the alkoxy silane to monoether is from 1 to 100.

External donor for olefin polymerization

The present invention describes a process for preparation of catalyst component comprising contacting magnesium based precursor along with an internal donor based on phenylene dioates with an acyl halides in a solvent to obtain a solid precatalyst component; and contacting the solid precatalyst component with transition metal compound to obtain the catalyst component. The present invention also relates to a process for preparation of a catalyst system from said catalyst component and preparation of a polyolefins having free flowing characteristics with bulk densities (BD) of at least about 0.3 g/cc from the catalyst system.

Catalyst process modification and polymerization thereof

The present invention describes a process for preparing catalyst for the polymerization of ethylene consisting essentially of the steps of (i) contacting a magnesium based precursor with a solvent; and (ii) then contacting the magnesium based precursor in the solvent with a transition metal compound to obtain the catalyst, wherein step (ii) is single contact step.
