An integrated energy storage component that includes a substrate supporting a contoured layer having a region with a contoured surface such as elongated pores. A stack structure is provided conformally over the contoured surface of this region. The stack is a single or repeated instance of MOIM layers, or MIOM layers, the M layers being metal layers, or a quasi-metal such as TiN, the O layers being oxide layers containing ions, and the I layer being an ionic dielectric. The regions having a contoured surface may be formed of porous anodized alumina.

An electrochemically actuatable electronic component comprises: a substrate; at least one first and one second actuating electrodes; at least one first and one second measuring electrodes; at least one storing electrode configured to free ions under the action of the actuating electrodes; at least one ionic conductor able to conduct the ions and that is located in a region placed between the measuring electrodes; a device suitable for: applying a voltage or a current between the first and second actuating electrodes to allow the migration of ions from the storing electrode to the first actuating electrode forming thereon an electrochemical deposition through the ionic conductor and for measuring, between the first and second measuring electrodes, a modification of at least one characteristic of the region placed between the first and second measuring electrodes, to determine at least one characteristic of the electronic component.

Electrochemically actuatable electronic component and process for producing the actuatable electronic component

The electrochemical device includes a first stack of solid thin layers formed on a substrate, the first stack forming a battery and including: a first electrode and a second electrode separated by a first electrolyte layer, a first current collector in contact with the first electrode, a second current collector in contact with the second electrode. The device includes a second stack forming a thermometer. The second stack includes a third current collector and a fourth current collector separated by a second electrolyte layer forming a resistive layer, the second electrolyte layer being ionically dissociated from the first electrolyte layer. The device includes a control circuit configured to measure the resistance of the resistive layer.

Electrochemical device, such as a microbattery, and fabrication method thereof

The fabrication method of a lithium microbattery provides for use of a substrate successively covered by: a cathode, a solid electrolyte, and a first electrically conducting layer made from a material configured to combine with the lithium atoms. The first layer is devoid of contact with the cathode. The method further includes formation of a second electrically conducting layer configured to form a diffusion barrier for the lithium atoms. The second layer is electrically connected to the first layer and leaves at least a part of the first layer uncovered, the part being facing the electrolyte. Electrochemical deposition of a lithium anode is then performed from germination from the first and second electrically conducting layers.

Method for producing a lithium microbattery

An electrochromic device includes a stack successively including: a first current collector, an electrochromic electrode made of a material capable of reversibly inserting metal ions, an electrolyte, a second current collector, a reflective substrate contacting the first current collector or with the second current collector. It includes a single electrochromic electrode and has at least the two following functional states: a first absorbing functional state, induced by the application of a first electric voltage between the two current collectors, wherein the device includes metal ions reversibly inserted into the material of the electrochromic electrode; and a second reflective functional state subsequent to the application of a second electric voltage between the two current collectors, wherein a metal layer is formed between the electrolyte and the second current collector, this metal layer including at least part of the metal ions initially reversibly inserted into the material of the electrochromic electrode.

A lithium microbattery comprises a packaging thin layer formed by a matrix of polymer material in which metallic particles are dispersed. The packaging thin layer constitutes at least a part of the anodic current collector of the lithium microbattery. The polymer material is advantageously obtained from at least a photopolymerizable precursor material chosen from bisphenol A diglycidylether, bisphenol F butanediol diglycidil ether, 7-oxabicylco[4.1.0]heptane-3-carboxylate of 7-oxabicylco[4.1.0]hept-3-ylmethyl and a mixture of bisphenol A and epichloridine. It can also be a copolymer obtained from a homogenous mixture of at least two photopolymerizable precursor materials, respectively acrylate-base, such as diacrylate 1,6-hexanediol and methacrylate, and epoxide-base, for example chosen from bisphenol A diglycidylether, 7-oxabicylco[4.1.0]heptane-3-carboxylate of 7-oxabicylco[4.1.0]hept-3-ylmethyl and a mixture of bisphenol A and epichloridine.

Lithium microbattery provided with an electronically conductive packaging layer

This lithium electrochemical device includes a stack of layers suitable for constituting a micro-battery deposited on a substrate and encapsulated using a protective cap sealed onto the substrate. It includes two collectors of the current generated by the micro-battery and at least one insulating layer inert as regards lithium. The collectors and the insulating layer or layers are deposited on the substrate. The protective cap is sealed onto the substrate using the layers constituting the current collectors and the insulating layer or layers. The cap has layers of the same nature, positioned in the same order in line with their respective layers deposited on the substrate, so that when the cap is sealed onto the substrate, the respective layers deposited on the cap and on the substrate come into contact with each other to provide the actual seal of the cap on the substrate.

The invention relates to a solid electrolyte, to a process for its manufacture and also to devices comprising it. The electrolyte of the invention is an amorphous solid of formula SiOCHLi, in which v, w, x, y and z are atomic percentages with 0&#x2266;v&#x2266;40, 5&#x2266;w&#x2266;50, x&#x3e;12, 10&#x2266;y&#x2266;40, 1&#x2266;z&#x2266;70, and 95%&#x2266;v+w+x+y+z&#x2266;100%. The electrolyte of the invention finds application in the field of electronics and microbatteries in particular.

In order to increase the capacity of an 'all-solid' type micro-battery, the layer of electrolyte is structured: transversing cavities are created in the flat layer, advantageously at the level of patches of collector material, then filled by anode or cathode material.

Structured electrolyte for micro-battery

The electrodes are formed by surface coating and cold compression on metal strips. They are then assembled, by hot pressing, with an electrolytic membrane. The metal strips are then removed, preferably by mechanical detachment. Current collectors are then formed on each of the electrodes by PVD type techniques that are conventional in microelectronics. The resulting thin micro-battery with high surface capacity can then be integrated in an integrated circuit, in particular by bonding by means of indium connecting balls.
