A drug test device for bodily fluids, such as urine, includes a cup and a removable lid which houses one or more test strips. The lid is releasably locked onto the cup so as to align dipping ends of the test strips exposed through an underside of the lid with a position stabilizer, thereby causing the dipping ends to be located downwardly and submerged in fluid when the device is placed on its side in a reactive position. The position stabilizer may comprise a sidewall indentation that reduces the internal volume of the cup and keeps the cup from rolling when placed on its side.

Fluid specimen collection device

A device for collecting, testing and storing fluids includes a container and a removable cap. Body fluids, such as urine, are collected in the container. The cap defines a test strip holder that receives one or more drug test strips and an adulteration strip. An opening defined through a bottom of the cap provides fluid communication between the container and the cap. When tilted, fluid from the container enters the cap through the hole. A variety of plugs may be employed to block the opening and thereby prevent fluid communication between the container and the cap after fluid has entered the cap. The remaining uncontaminated and untested body fluid is stored in the container and thus made available for further confirmation testing. Associated methods for collecting, testing and storing fluids with a single device are also provided. A method of manufacturing the foregoing test device is also provided.

Device for collecting, testing and storing fluids

A lateral flow immunoassay contact chemical test device and method integrates sample collection, prescreen testing, and confirmation sample collecting and storing with a single device and a minimum of steps. While particularly advantageously used with an oral fluid sample absorbed directly from a person's mouth, (in which constant monitoring of a collection process is made possible), the test device may be used with any of a variety of sample fluids. Prescreen testing and confirmation testing are performed on a single sample. Prescreen testing is performed by a lateral flow assay. The sample collection pad is subsequently separated from the wicking path to prevent continued migration from, and backflow into the sample collection pad, so that the confirmation sample is preserved in the sample collection pad. A multitude of antigens can be detected with a single device.

Integrated confirmation sample in a body fluid test device and method of using

A test strip assembly for detecting the presence of a substance in liquid sample comprises a contact detection pad in communication with a reagent-free absorbent strip. The absorbent strip receives the liquid sample and communicates it to the contact detection pad via lateral flow. The absorbent strip and contact detection pad are adhered to a support. A liquid impermeable pad is disposed adjacent to and spaced apart from the contact detection pad to prevent any further travel of the sample. Further add-on assemblies may be coupled to the base test strip assembly. The test strip assembly may be disposed in a housing along with a drug test strip to form a device that performs multiple types of tests. Methods for assaying and manufacturing are also provided.

Lateral flow contact test apparatus

A fluid testing apparatus comprises a vessel for collecting a fluid, a removable cap secured to the top of the vessel, and a movable carrier to transport a portion of the fluid in the vessel to test strips disposed within the cap. The test strips are disposed in cavities of the cap. One end portion of each test strip exits through an exit port on the bottom side of the cap. A rim on the bottom side of the cap surrounds the protruding end portions of the test strips. The movable carrier is movable between a retrieving position to collect the fluid and a testing position where the retrieved fluid is brought into contact with the protruding ends of the test strips. A spring bias mechanism causes the carrier to move toward the closed, testing position by default. In the testing position, the carrier's receptacle forms a seal with the surrounding rim and the bottom side of the cap to prevent the carried portion of the fluid from contacting the remaining, non-tested fluid in the vessel. A method for containing and testing a fluid is also provided.
