A method for controlling a valve for maintaining brake pressure in a specified region of a brake circuit in a motor vehicle, in which the valve is controlled using a first control method, the specified region of the brake circuit is monitored with respect to the occurrence of a loss of brake pressure, and in response to a detected loss of brake pressure, the valve is controlled using a second control method.

Method and device for carrying out a stationary holding function on a motor vehicle

A method is described for automatically keeping a motor vehicle at a standstill. The motor vehicle includes a braking system having a valve for limiting the brake pressure to a predefinable pressure threshold value. Gradient information and a pressure threshold value dependent on the gradient information are ascertained. The pressure threshold value is set at the valve as soon as the motor vehicle is at a standstill and the service brake is applied.

Method for automatically keeping a motor vehicle at a standstill

A method for holding a vehicle at a standstill includes a first phase in which the brake pressure at the wheel brakes is retained so that the vehicle is held automatically by the service brake, and the braking force is then transferred to a parking brake so that in a second phase the vehicle is held solely by the parking brake. A risk inherent in this transfer is that the vehicle may begin to slip. The distance over which the vehicle slides in uncontrolled fashion can be made substantially shorter if, in the second phase in which the vehicle is being held by the parking brake, the movement of the vehicle is monitored by sensors, and brake pressure is automatically built up by way of an actuator as soon as the fact that the vehicle is rolling away has been detected.

Method for protecting a vehicle with an automatic parking brake

To achieve a specifiable, and thus reproducible final pressure in at least one part of the brake circuit, the pump is first actuated for pressure buildup or pressure reduction when the valve is closed. When a first specified setpoint pressure is reached, or when a pressure threshold value is exceeded, the valve is put into an open position using a first actuation. After the pump is switched off, the actuation of the valve is modified in such a way that, during a specifiable time, a continuous change of the first actuation is undertaken all the way up to a second actuation, in which the valve assumes a holding position, particularly while taking into consideration the pressure difference which prevails at the valve.

Method and device for the reproducible generation of a specifiable final pressure in a braking system

A method for determining the moment of activation of an automatic hold function in vehicles. The optimum moment of activation may be determined precisely if the present vehicle speed is measured by wheel speed sensors, a future vehicle speed is calculated and the hold function is activated when the calculated future vehicle speed is lower than a predefined speed threshold.
