A protective removable skin section includes a flexible sheet and a reversible closure system configured to join edges of the flexible sheet. The protective removable skin section may be mounted onboard of a vessel, when the equipment is deployed.

A cleaning device for cleaning a marine element towed in water and related methods are provided. The cleaning device includes a body configured to enclose the marine element; at least one wing attached to the body and configured to impart translational and rotational motion to the body when interacting with the water; a switching and locking mechanism configured to change an orientation of the at least one wing between a first orientation and a second orientation when contacting a stopper and also to lock the selected orientation; rotating means attached to an internal surface of the body and configured to contact the marine element, the rotating means having axles that make a fix angle with a longitudinal axis of the body; and a cleaning tool attached to the body and configured to clean the marine element.

Autonomous cleaning device for seismic streamers and method

A cleaning device for cleaning a marine element towed in water and related methods are provided. The cleaning device includes a body configured to enclose a marine element; at least one wing fixedly attached to the body and configured to impart translational motion to the body when flowing in water; and a keel attached to the body and configured to limit a rotation of the body. The at least one wing is oriented relative to the body so that the cleaning device travels from a head portion toward a tail portion of the marine element when the marine element is towed at an angle less than a triggering angle with a traveling direction of a vessel towing the marine element.

Various methods preserve or restore the low roughness throughout an outer shell of a device (e.g., a streamer) used underwater for seismic surveys, by applying various substances that fill micro-cracks, are easy to polish or are self-healing. Apparatuses used to implement these methods may be used shortly before the devices are deployed in water, for example, having the device passing through such an apparatus as it is moved to be deployed in water.

Streamer coating device and method

A method and a marine front-end gear for connecting a set of streamers to a towing vessel. The front-end gear includes ropes for connecting a first sub-set of streamers to the vessel; lead-ins for connecting a second sub-set of streamers to the vessel; and a back loop cable electrically connected between tails of first and second adjacent streamers. The towing system includes a connecting line; a first paravane connected to the connecting line, wherein the connecting line is configured to connect the first paravane to a vessel; a spur line connected to the first paravane and configured to provide a tension to maintain streamers apart from each other; and a second paravane connected to the connecting line, between the first paravane and the vessel. The second paravane is configured to increase an angle (&#x3b1;) between the connecting line and the spur line.
