The present disclosure relates to semiconductor structures and, more particularly, to a lateral bipolar transistor and methods of manufacture. The structure includes: an extrinsic base region within a semiconductor substrate material; a shallow trench isolation structure extending into the semiconductor substrate material and bounding the extrinsic base region; an emitter region adjacent to the shallow trench isolation structure and on a side of the extrinsic base region; and a collector region adjacent to the shallow trench isolation structure and on an opposing side of the extrinsic base region.

Lateral bipolar transistor

Semiconductor device structures with substrate biasing, methods of forming a semiconductor device structure with substrate biasing, and methods of operating a semiconductor device structure with substrate biasing. A substrate contact is coupled to a portion of a bulk semiconductor substrate in a device region. The substrate contact is configured to be biased with a negative bias voltage. A field-effect transistor includes a semiconductor body in the device region of the bulk semiconductor substrate. The semiconductor body is electrically isolated from the portion of the bulk semiconductor substrate.

Semiconductor device structures with a substrate biasing scheme

A computer implemented method for helping a user of computer game and learning programs to perceive a correct answer to a question presented by the programs. These computer game and learning programs (Set A programs) are modified by a computer program of this invention that accepts exactly one token string to be a correct answer (Set ESP program). Answer related output information in a Set A program is modified by the Set ESP program to provide a cue (hint) to a user to increase or decrease the ability of a user to perceive a correct answer. When a user enters an answer a guard requirement in the Set ESP program is satisfied and a guarded subfunction in the Set ESP program is executed if the user's answer is correct. Cues for answers can be visual (with or without eye-tracking), audible, and haptic and can be presented subliminally.

Method and system for altering level of difficulty of computer games and learning programs

A canteen having sides, a top portion, and a bottom portion, forming an interior therein. The top portion and the bottom portion are convex shaped and transparent to light. The top portion and the bottom portion have a radius of curvature of 1.5 and 3 inches. When the interior of the canteen is filled with water, the canteen forms a biconvex fire-starting water lens. The canteen, preferably, is made of PETG thermoplastic resin or PLA, is one piece, and the thickness of the sides, top portion, and bottom portion is 5 to 7 mils. The magnification produced by the bioconvex fire-starting water lens is 2 to 6 fold.

Fire-starting canteen

A fire starting canteen that has internal fire starting lenses. The lenses can be solid or water lenses. The canteen has two internal chambers, one for holding water and the other for holding water and forming a fire burning lens. The fire starting canteens can be combined reversibly or permanently to form an inner canteen and an outer canteen with larger water-carrying capacity and fire starting capability than a single canteen. The lenses are, preferably, convex but can also be concave or a combination of both. A divider in the interior of the canteen forms the two internal chambers. The divider has a convex shape and, in combination with the chamber filled with water, forms the fire starting lens.

A restraining device for securing a child safety seat to the LATCH system anchors of an automobile includes a strap having first and second opposed ends. Respective hooks or other fasteners are connected to the opposed ends for selective attachment to respective anchors of an automobile. The restraining device includes a ratchet mechanism enabling the strap to be incrementally tightened and thus increasing tension forces between the first and second strap ends. A strain gauge is also included for visually indicating the tension forces and indicating when the straps are at safe or unsafe tension conditions.
