An example method involves electrically coupling first and second nodes of a device to a port of a digital subscriber line access multiplexer (DSLAM) and to a first end of a communication circuit. The communication circuit facilitates electrical coupling of the port of the DSLAM to a central office switch at a second end of the communication circuit. A signature circuit is electrically coupled between the first and second nodes to generate a signature signal in response to a test signal injected onto the communication circuit at a second end of the communication circuit. The signature signal has a magnitude substantially proportional to the test signal. First and second conductors of the communication circuit are electrically coupled to respective ones of the first and second nodes. Third and fourth conductors of the port of the DSLAM are electrically coupled to respective ones of the first and second nodes.

Rehoming a DLSAM between ports residing on a first switch includes establishing a physical loop-back circuit between a second port and a temporary input port of the first switch; establishing an ePVC between the input port and a first port, the first port coupled to a first connection; removing a PVC and establishing a new PVC; routing data between the second switch and the DSLAM via the new PVC, the circuit, the ePVC, and the first connection between the first switch and the DSLAM; removing the circuit from the second port; establishing a second connection between the second port and the DSLAM; routing data between the second switch and the DSLAM via the new PVC and the second connection; removing the ePVC between the first port and the temporary input port; and disconnecting the first connection between the first port of the first switch and the DSLAM.

Method and system for rehoming a digital subscriber line access multiplexer

Example methods and system to validate proper network connections between a digital subscriber line (DSL) access multiplexer (DSLAM) and the subscriber loop to a customer location are disclosed. A disclosed example device includes first and second nodes to electrically couple the device to a port of a DSLAM and to a first end of a communication circuit, the communication circuit to facilitate electrical coupling of the port of the DSLAM to a central office (CO) switch at a second end of the communication circuit, and a signature circuit electrically coupled between the first and second nodes to generate a signature signal in response to a test signal injected onto the communication circuit at a second end of the communication circuit, the signature signal having a magnitude substantially proportional to the test signal.

A method and system are provided for rehoming a digital subscriber line access multiplexer between a first data port and a second data port on a data switch. The method includes establishing a physical loop-back circuit between the second data port and a temporary input port of the data switch, establishing an extension permanent virtual circuit between the temporary input port and the first data port, removing a permanent virtual circuit between a data switch servicing a network service provider and the first data port, establishing a permanent virtual circuit between the data switch servicing the network service provider and the second data port, and routing data between the network service provider and the digital subscriber line access multiplexer via the permanent virtual circuit between the data switch servicing the network service provider and the second data port, the physical loop-back circuit, and the extension permanent virtual circuit.

Systems and methods are disclosed for providing network testing. The disclosed systems and methods may include connecting to at least one element within a network. Furthermore, the disclosed systems and methods may include performing a test on the network through at least one element. The test may be associated with at least one addressable device connected to the network. In addition, the disclosed systems and methods may include analyzing data associated with the test.

Methods and systems for providing end-to-end testing of an IP-enabled network

A test system detects proper connection wiring in a connection frame between a customer's lines and a DSL Access Multiplexer (DSLAM). A multi-loop tester at a central office generates a test signal on low frequency lines to a customer's connection in a connection frame. A signature circuit is electrically connected between the customer's connection in the connection frame for the low frequency lines and the DSLAM. The signature circuit responds to the test signal and generates a signature signal. The multi-loop tester senses the signature signal to verify that the DSLAM is properly connected to the customer's lines.

A method for moving permanent virtual circuits in an ATM network with minimal downtime includes creating a list of the permanent virtual circuits to be moved; building a set of shadow permanent virtual circuits using the new ATM port and a temporary set of virtual path identifier and virtual circuit identifier pairs; moving a physical connection from the original ATM port to the new ATM port; deleting the permanent virtual circuits on the original ATM port; and changing the shadow permanent virtual circuits to use the original virtual path identifier and virtual circuit identifier pairs.

The login logic typically operates to log a user into several trouble ticket systems. The monitoring device typically polls the trouble ticket systems for open trouble tickets. System and method for managing network elements in an ATM network

A foldable dry erase surface, such as a temporary wall, permits writing on the surface as is typically done with a dry erase board. The dry erase surface includes individual panels that are hinged together so that the surface formed by the panels is foldable. The individual panels have a dry erase film attached to them so that writing may occur on the panels themselves. The dry erase surface may be collapsed when not in use, or it may be expanded when it is necessary to write on or read from the surface. The dry erase surface is collapsed or expanded by pivoting the panels about the hinged connections, which is typically done by pushing or pulling an end panel of the dry erase surface.
