A system is provided that includes: (a) a mobile platform; (b) an input pump operatively connected to be capable of pumping a treatment stream through the system; (c) a centrifugal separator operatively connected downstream of the input pump to centrifugally treat the treatment stream; (d) a borate filter operatively connected downstream of the centrifugal separator to filter the treatment stream capable of removing at least some of a borate when the treatment stream is at a pH of 8 or above; and (e) a chemical-additive subsystem operatively connected to be capable of: (i) selectively adding one or more chemical agents to the treatment stream upstream of the centrifugal separator, wherein the chemical agents can be selected to be capable of precipitating dissolved ions selected from the group consisting of: sulfate, calcium, strontium, or barium, magnesium, iron; and (ii) selectively adding a chemical agent to the treatment stream upstream of the borate filter to increase the pH of the treatment stream to 8 or above.

Mobile systems and methods of sufficiently treating water so that the treated water may be utilized in well-treatment operations

A tubing injector apparatus for use with variable diameter tubing. The apparatus comprises a pair of carriages which may be moved transversely and pivotally with respect to one another by actuating hydraulic actuator cylinders. A hydraulic control system uses relief valves to maintain a substantially constant pressure in the actuator cylinders when a tapered connector in the tubing passes between the carriages. A gripper chain in each carriage has gripper blocks to grippingly engage the tubing. A linear beam supports the gripper chain and has a plurality of resiliently biased segments therein to help maintain better contact with the tubing when the tapered connector passes through.

Tubing injector for variable diameter tubing

An apparatus and method for moving a tubing along a path, according to which the tubing is engaged by an outer chain which is driven to advance the tubing. The chain is adapted to be deflected radially in response to an increase in the diameter of the tubing, and a plate is compressed in response to the deflection of the chain to accommodate the variation in diameter.

Apparatus and method for injecting tubing in a well bore

A coiled tubing injector apparatus for use in inserting coiled tubing into a well, temporarily suspending the coiled tubing, and removing the coiled tubing from the well is described. The apparatus includes a base with a pair of spaced-apart carriages extending upwardly therefrom. The base is part of a frame positioned above a wellhead. The carriages each have a gripper chain drive system rotatably mounted thereon and movable therewith. An actuation and linkage system allows the carriages to move toward and away from one another in a lateral or transverse direction with respect to the superstructure and the base. Thus, the gripper chain systems comprises gripper chains that can be engaged or disengaged from the coiled tubing extending through the apparatus. A wetting fluid basin is positioned below the gripper chains, and support guides engage the coiled tubing below the gripper chains to prevent buckling of the coiled tubing. The gripper chain drive system includes idler sprockets mounted on an idler sprocket shaft. The position of first and second ends of the idler sprocket shaft are monitored, and may be adjusted to maintain a parallel relationship with a drive sprocket shaft on which are mounted drive sprockets supporting the gripper chain.

Coiled tubing injector apparatus

A tapered connector for a tubing string. The present invention includes a tapered connector used in interconnecting sections of the tubing string having differing outside diameters. The connector is preferably conical and fixedly attached to the tubing portions in various ways, such as welding. The tubing string can be injected into a well by using a tubing injector with gripper blocks having a V-shaped groove defined therein adapted for engaging the different diameter tubing sections and the tapered connector and methods of injecting are also disclosed.
