Verifying coverage based at least in part on crowd-sourced data associated with devices that are communicatively coupled to a service provider via a network is described. Techniques described herein include determining coverage data associated with a plurality of areas corresponding to a geographical location. In an example, the coverage data can indicate whether coverage associated with each area of the plurality of areas is verified coverage such that individual devices of a plurality of devices have successfully connected to a service provider above a threshold number of times in each area. Additionally, the techniques described herein include generating a user interface to graphically represent the coverage in the geographical location via a coverage map including a plurality of tiles respectively corresponding to the plurality of areas, each tile of the plurality of tiles being associated with a presentation indicating whether coverage associated with a corresponding area is verified coverage.

Methods and system deliver media to users of media presentation systems. In accordance with one embodiment of the invention, a media server communicates with a media presentation system, such as a media player for streaming video and audio, to present subscription and non-subscription media to the user of the media presentation system. Subscription media may include multi-tiered media packages and individual media offerings as selected by the user. The media may be presented in various formats, including video, a graphical display, an audio presentation, a graphical and audio presentation, URL links, and interactive windows. The media server updates the foregoing information in accordance with the interaction between the media server, the users of media presentation systems, and the media providers.

A method and apparatus for controlling access restrictions for media resource playback may include defining a user-specific content control profile authorizing one or more classes of content to be delivered to a client device, generating a media resource request identifying a first media resource associated with a first class of content and one or more attributes of the content control profile, determining whether the first class of content has been authorized for delivery to the client device based at least in part upon the one or more attributes of the content control profile, and delivering the first media resource to the client device if the first class of content has been authorized for delivery to the client device.
