Systems and methods for a code carrier divergence (CCD) high-pass filter monitor are provided. In one embodiment, a signal deformation monitor for a GNSS ground based augmentation station, the monitor comprising: a CCD monitor stage communicatively coupled to a plurality of GNSS reference receivers, wherein the CCD monitor stage inputs raw pseudorange code measurements and accumulated delta range carrier measurements from each of the plurality of GNSS reference receivers; and a Code Carrier Divergence -High Pass Filer (CCD-HPF) monitor stage communicatively coupled to the CCD monitor stage, wherein the CCD-HPF monitor processes each of a plurality of low-pass filtered divergence rate measurements, dproduced by the CCD monitor stage through a high-pass filter to calculate an averaged CCD-HPF monitor divergence rate, d; wherein the signal deformation monitor outputs an exclusion signal associated with a GNSS satellite when the averaged CCD-HPF monitor divergence rate, dexceeds an exclusion threshold.

Systems and methods for a code carrier divergence high-pass filter monitor

A method of implementing a real-time screening process for phase scintillation is presented. The method includes detecting a phase scintillation event during a sample time period at a phase scintillation monitor; excluding associated satellite measurement data from further use based on the detection of the phase scintillation event at the phase scintillation monitor; detecting an end to the phase scintillation event at the phase scintillation monitor; and readmitting associated satellite measurement data collected after the end of the phase scintillation event as detected by the phase scintillation monitor.

Satellite measurement screening to protect the integrity of existing monitors in the presence of phase scintillation

A method of implementing a real-time screening process for amplitude scintillation is presented. The method includes detecting an amplitude scintillation event during a sample time period at an amplitude scintillation monitor; excluding associated satellite measurement data from further use based on the detection of the amplitude scintillation event at the amplitude scintillation monitor; detecting an end to the amplitude scintillation event at the amplitude scintillation monitor; and readmitting associated satellite measurement data collected after the end of the amplitude scintillation event as determined by the amplitude scintillation monitor.

A processing module to monitor a horizontal delay gradient in satellite signals is provided. The processing module includes a dual-processing-satellite-differencing module, a double differencing module, and a gradient estimator module. The dual-processing-satellite-differencing module is operable to: receive carrier phase measurements for at least two satellites from at least two reference receivers; implement a first processing mode to normalize first satellite differences between +&#x3bb;/2 and &#x2212;&#x3bb;/2; implement a second processing mode configured to normalize second satellite differences between 0 and &#x3bb;; and select for further processing one of: data indicative of the first satellite differences processed according to the first processing mode; and data indicative of the second satellite differences processed according to the second processing mode. The double differencing module forms double-differences based on the selected data input from the dual-processing-satellite-differencing module. The gradient estimator module estimates a magnitude of the horizontal delay gradient.

Ground-based system and method to extend the detection of excessive delay gradients using dual processing

Systems and methods to monitor for false alarms from ionosphere gradient monitors are provided. In one embodiment, a method for mitigating false gradient alarms in a satellite navigation Ground Based Augmentation System (GBAS) ground station comprising a plurality of satellite navigation system reference receivers comprises: generating an alarm signal with an ionosphere gradient monitor (IGM) at the GBAS ground station; determining whether the alarm signal is a false alarm based on data derived from carrier phase measurements received from the plurality of satellite navigation system reference receivers; and blocking the alarm signal for at least a first duration of time based on the determining.

Systems and methods to monitor for false alarms from ionosphere gradient monitors

A processing function to monitor a horizontal delay gradient in satellite signals is provided. The processing function includes a satellite differencing module, a double differencing module, a parity test module, and a gradient estimator module. The satellite differencing module receives carrier phase measurements for at least two satellites from at least three reference receivers. The satellite differencing module determines differences in the carrier phase measurements between signals from the monitored satellite and at least one of the at least one other satellite. The double differencing module: forms double-differences between pairs of the reference receivers; compensates the double-differences between the pairs; performs a modulo operation; and averages the double differences. The parity test module inputs the averaged compensated double differences when the average exceeds a parity enable threshold. The gradient estimator module configured is to estimate a magnitude of the horizontal delay gradient.

Ground-based system and method to extend the detection of excessive delay gradients using parity corrections

A 1-sigma pseudorange ground monitor (sigma monitor) is described. The sigma monitor calculates a weighted sum of squared deviations referred to as the discriminator for one or several reference receiver for a specific time period. The sigma monitor also calculates an alert threshold based on the chi-square or near chi-square probability distributions for one or several reference receivers and for the specific time period. The sigma monitor then compares the discriminator with the alert or alarm threshold. If the discriminator is greater than the alert or alarm threshold, an alert or alarm is issued and logged.

LAAS ground facility sigma monitor

A method and system pertaining to a dual antenna compensation algorithm is provided. A local area augmentation system may include a dual antenna system to receive signals from satellites. The system may switch between the antennas to receive signals, and the transition between the antennas should be seamless. Thus, phase variations between the antennas can be determined to correct for code phase variations, and hardware delays between the antennas can be determined to correct for delay differences in signals received from both antennas.
