Disclosed is a main liner for a centrifugal pump having a main pumping chamber, the main liner being located within an outer housing of the centrifugal pump, when in use, and comprising: a main pumping chamber; an inlet opening for the introduction of a liquid into the main pumping chamber; a discharge outlet extending from the main pumping chamber; and an outer surface of the discharge outlet for contact with the outer housing for the liner, the outer surface having at least one alignment portion for engaging with a corresponding alignment portion on the outer housing, the engagement of the alignment portion with the corresponding alignment portion limiting movement of the discharge outlet relative to the outer housing.

There is provided a drive side liner for a centrifugal slurry pump, wherein the centrifugal slurry pump includes an outer casing, a main liner and an impeller driven by a drive shaft, wherein the main liner and drive side liner are housed within the outer casing of the centrifugal slurry pump, the drive side liner including: an inner liner portion including a central aperture configured to receive the drive shaft, the drive side liner further including an outer liner portion arranged to surround the inner liner portion, wherein the inner liner portion and the outer liner portion are each configured to removably engage with one another and the outer casing.

Various aspects of the disclosure are directed to providing structures that define a radial gap between an impeller and a pump casing element that facilitates minimizing the movement of fluid into the radial gap in a manner that lessens the impact, and consequent degradation, of the inner surface of the pump casing element by movement of abrasive particulates out of the radial gap, which is accomplished by providing a suction inlet arrangement of an impeller and pump casing element that are angled from the eye of the impeller to the outer periphery of the impeller in a direction away from the back shroud or drive side of the impeller and toward a first end of the pump casing in which fluid is introduced into the pump casing.

A seal assembly for sealing a fluid passageway from contaminants is disclosed. The fluid passageway is formed by a rotating shaft entering an opening in a housing. The fluid passageway connects an interior of the housing, and any exterior of the housing. The seal assembly includes a first sealing member and a second sealing member, which divides the fluid passage into an interior section, an open section, and a sealed section. The interior section is exposed to the interior of the housing. The sealed section is fluidly sealed between the interior section and the open section. A sensor is disposed within the sealed section. The sensor is configured to sense the contaminants within the sealed section and is electronically coupled to a controller configured to send an alarm signal. The sensor is a moisture sensor and extends into an annular recess formed in the stationary member.

The seal includes a base having an inner surface and an outer surface. A band portion extends from the base and a retainer member extends from the band portion. The retainer member is spaced apart from the base and oriented for positioning against a groove formed in the axially adjustable side plate liner of the centrifugal pump.

The adjustment system is structured to be self-monitoring for determination of when an adjustment of the leakage restricting mechanism is warranted by the conditions of the pump, and is structured with adjusting mechanisms that are self-adjusting responsive to the monitored conditions of the pump, though manual adjustment is also enabled.

A floating ring seal arrangement for rotodynamic pumps comprises a flexible ring that is structured to fit within a circular channel formed by generally concentric grooves in the rotating and non-rotating elements of the pump, the ring further being sized to rest against the inner diameter of the groove of the rotating element when static, and capable of radially expansion under centrifugal forces to cause the flexible ring to float in the circular channel during operation of the pump, or deformation under centrifugal or pressure forces such that gaps between the flexible ring and groove in the non-rotating element are minimized or eliminated.
