A connector includes a modular connector including: a connector body; a substrate positioned in the connector body; wire termination contacts electrically coupled to the substrate; connector contacts electrically coupled to the substrate; the substrate including traces that electrically connect each of the wire contacts to a respective one of the connector contacts; a lacing cap subassembly including: a lacing cap having a plurality of wire receiving slots; a lacing cap body coupled to the lacing cap; a lacing cap door hingedly coupled to the lacing cap body, the lacing cap door moveable between an open and closed position.

A telecommunications connector including seal members for preventing contaminants from entering the plug and/or jack when mated. The mated combination of the plug and jack assemblies creates a telecommunication connector that seals and isolates the contact interface of a modular plug and a jack from contaminants such as water, dust, and other non-desirable elements and/or substances.

A telecommunications connector is provided including a plug assembly having a plug housing, a first mating means, and a first seal member, the plug housing including a plug retaining means for receiving and selectively retaining a plug having a cable attached thereto, and the plug housing further including a latch defeat. A wiring connecting system having superior electrical transmission performance with reduced cross talk and improved lacing and termination features is disclosed and includes a base, a wire strip mountable to the base, a connecting block for housing a plurality of electrical contacts and a plurality of cross talk barriers disposed within the connecting block for isolating pairs of the electrical contacts. The wire strip has a plurality of first and second posts alternating along its length. The second posts have a greater width than the first posts. A connecting block for housing a plurality of electrical contacts mounts onto the wire strip. An upper end of the connecting block includes a plurality of first and second teeth alternating along its length with the second teeth have a greater width than the first teeth. The electrical contacts extend from the lower end of the housing to generally align with the openings of the wire strip. A plurality of barriers for electrically shielding pairs of the electrical contacts are disposed within the connecting block housing and substantially surround respective pairs of the electrical contacts. A plug for connecting a cable having a plurality of wires to the connecting block is also disclosed.

High performance wiring connecting system

An exemplary embodiment of the invention is a telecommunications plug for use with a cable including a plurality of wires. The plug includes a plug base having a termination portion including a plurality of contact slots. Each contact slot receives one of the wires. A plurality of contacts each has an insulation displacement end and is positioned in a respective contact slot for establishing electrical connection with one of the wires. A plug cover having a plurality of ribs each aligned with one of the contact slots mates with the termination portion. The ribs contact the wires to provide strain relief to the wires.
