A single, unitary component for a pedestal that houses utility/communication lines/connections. The unitary component includes a tool engageable portion for rotation thereby and a hooked finger extending from the tool engageable portion and moving in an arc during rotation for engagement with a catch. The single, unitary component includes a resilient finger integral to and extending from at least one of the tool engageable portion or the hooked finger and having an engagement distal end. The engagement distal end of the resilient finger is engageable with a surface with the resilient finger resiliently deforming during rotation of the single, unitary component in a rotational direction to move the hook away from the catch and the resilient finger resiliently biasing the hook toward interaction with the catch.

A modular mounting bracket includes a base member having a plurality of support members that receive an enclosure, the plurality of support members each including a plurality of slots. A plurality of latching mechanisms each including a body portion and a latching portion are positioned within the plurality of slots of the plurality of support members. The plurality of latching mechanisms are translatable between an access position and an engaged position, and the plurality of latching mechanisms engage the enclosure and secure the enclosure to the modular mounting bracket in the engaged position.

A mounting system for mounting a photovoltaic panel to a surface includes a mounting base that is supported on the surface. The mounting base defines an elongated opening that extends along an axis. A module mount can be coupled to the mounting base. The module mount includes a first mount portion that is received within the elongated opening of the mounting base such that the module mount is movable with respect to the mounting base along the axis. A second mount portion is coupled to the photovoltaic panel for mounting the photovoltaic panel to the surface through the mounting base.

Fiber-optic equipment is often deployed in various locations, and performance of fiber-optic transmissions may be monitored as a gauge of equipment status to prevent costly and inconvenient communication outages. Events that damage equipment that eventually result in outage and may be desirable to address proactively, but the occurrence of such events may be difficult to detect only through equipment performance Presented herein are techniques for monitoring and maintaining fiber-optic equipment performance via enclosure sensors that measure physical properties within a fiber-optic equipment enclosure, such as temperature, pressure, light, motion, vibration, and moisture, which are often diagnostic and predictive of causes of eventual communication outages, such as temperature-induced cable loss (TICL), incomplete flash-testing during installation, exposure to hazardous environmental conditions, and tampering. An enclosure sensor package transmits the physical measurements to a monitoring station, and automatic determination of enclosure-related events may enable triaging and transmission of repair alerts to maintenance personnel.

A line bypass system includes a support structure including a first support portion and a second support portion spaced apart from the first support portion. The support structure includes an attachment portion that attaches the first support portion to the second support portion. The first support portion and the second support portion define a first opening on a first side of the attachment portion and a second opening on a second side of the attachment portion. The first opening movably receives a first guide wire and the second opening movably receives a second guide wire.

A vibration damper for reducing a vibration in a cable is provided. The vibration damper includes an attachment portion that is attached to the cable. The vibration damper includes a flexible leg portion attached to the attachment portion. The vibration damper includes a weighted portion attached to the flexible leg portion. The weighted portion is spaced a distance apart from the attachment portion.

A line bypass system is provided having a guide wire. The line bypass system has a support structure defining a first channel, into which a first wire portion of the guide wire is received. The support structure has a second channel, extending parallel to the first channel, into which a second wire portion of the guide wire is received. The first channel is dimensioned to facilitate engagement of a robot with the first wire portion and the second channel is dimensioned to facilitate engagement of a robot with the second wire portion as the robot traverses the support structure.

A cover apparatus can cover an electrical insulator and an electrical conductor. The cover apparatus includes a leg section that covers a portion of the electrical conductor. A cover section covers a portion of the electrical insulator. The cover section can include a body portion that is coupled to the leg section at a first coupling location. The cover section includes an adjustable portion coupled to the body portion at a second coupling location located on an opposite side of the body portion relative to the first coupling location. The adjustable portion can be adjusted such that a dimension of the adjustable portion is adjusted according to a dimension of the electrical insulator. A method of forming a cover apparatus for covering an electrical insulator and an electrical conductor is also provided.

A cover apparatus is provided for covering an electrical insulator and a conductor. The cover apparatus includes a first cover portion extending along a first axis. The first cover portion includes a first segment covering a first portion of the electrical insulator and a second segment coupled to the first segment and covering a first portion of the conductor. The cover apparatus includes a second cover portion extending along a second axis. The second cover portion includes a third segment movably attached to the first segment and a fourth segment coupled to the third segment and covering a portion of the conductor. An example method of forming a cover apparatus for covering an electrical insulator and a conductor is also provided.

Movably adjustable cover for conductors and insulators

Systems and methods that enable a cable to be easily terminated at an elevated level are provided. The cable can be a strength member having a number of fiber optic storage loops disposed about its length. These loops can be strategically positioned upon a sidewall of a multi-dwelling building such that fiber optic service can be efficiently connected as desired. The systems can include a housing apparatus having a locking cavity where the cable is terminated. The housing includes entry and exit apertures that permit a pulling device such as tape to pass there through. A locking mechanism can be positioned within the housing which engages a dead-end device connected to the cable thereby facilitating termination of the dead-end device at the elevated level after frictional release of a retaining knot. Various mounting bracket assemblies are provided which facilitate mounting on most any surface.

Cable hoist and bracket system and method thereof

An adaptable connection enclosure (ACE) is disclosed. The ACE can employ a number of different connector blocks thereby enhancing versatility to address a myriad of different connection scenarios. In aspects, the ACE can support coax, coax/fiber, coax/CAT5, fiber/CAT5, fiber or CAT5 connector blocks without altering the ACE housing. In accordance therewith, adapter plates can be employed to effect the interchangeability.

Adaptable connection enclosure

A fiber retention device is provided for retention of fibers such as optical fibers, tubing, cables, buffer tubes and other elongate objects. The retention device includes, generally, a mounting retainer and a resilient sleeve. The mounting retainer is formed of a resilient material and defines one or more generally U-shaped support channels. The resilient sleeve is positioned in the U-shaped support channel and defines at least one expandable passageway for receiving a fiber therein. The passageway diameter is less than the fiber diameter in a pre-load orientation or relaxed condition prior to inserting the fiber into the passageway. The support channel selectively includes a plurality of tabs for locating the sleeve therein including tabs on a bottom wall for resisting relative horizontal movement and tabs on a side wall for resisting relative vertical movement of the sleeve within the channel. The sleeve is positively located by the channel, and the fiber is retained and strain relieved by the elastomer sleeve. A mounting flange is provided for coupling a plurality of mounting retainers in a coupled orientation as desired.
