A water treatment system and method. Influent water produced from an oil and gas production or the like is circulated in a multistage unit where the water is treated by degassing the water by saturating the water with air, stripping volatile compounds from the water, evaporating non-aqueous phase liquid petroleum from the water, repeatedly stripping and equilibrating inorganic carbons in the water, subliming semi-solids from the water, and breaking colloids in the water using continuous cavitation. Water from the multistage unit is clarified through floatation and sedimentation and biological material in the water is inactivated using irradiation. Water is then filtered before being provided as treated water for an application specific process such as electro desalination reversal, fracking reuse, or other wastewater recovery.

Water treatment system and method

A system of treating high nitrogen content waste water is disclosed, where the system includes a precipitation and conditioning subsystem, an ammonia stripper subsystem, and a denitrification subsystem. The system is adapted to reduce nitrogen contamination to level below about 10 ppm and in certain embodiments below 3 ppm.

A denitrification system is disclosed, where a plurality of biological regenerated adsorptive cells or units. Each cell includes a counterflowing absorptive media and waste water to achieve a two or three zone biomass nitrate/nitrite degradation environment. The system includes a backwash water recirculation loop and a media recirculation loop, where the media recirculation loop subjects the media a sufficient shear to dislodge dead microbes and/or weakly bound microbial films from the media surface, but insufficient to substantially reduce the particle size of the friable media. Nutrient supply and distribution and gas controls are used regulate cell characteristics.

Bio-denitrification apparatus and method for making and using same

A water conditioning apparatus and method wherein raw water is supplied to a plurality of axially aligned stripping chambers to form a cove shaped sheet within said stripping chambers and to cause an aspiration of air in each of the stripping chambers. Alternating high and low pressure zones are formed in the stripping chambers to enhance the air stripping of the water. The water is discharged through an outlet nozzle where the water sprays against the side wall of the nozzle to cause the water droplets to coalesce.

Water conditioning apparatus and method

A method of treating and progressively densifying liquid waste. It comprises thoroughly mixing and aerating by a continuous mixer and/or aerating raw water and chemical treating materials, discharging the resulting mixture downwardly into a reaction compartment, thence drawing the resulting material upwardly by means of an impeller and gravity flow, then allowing a portion of the resulting denser sludge to descend downwardly by gravity into a floc tunnel, thence in a horizontal portion, further densifying and separating takes place. The remaining portion is directed horizontally against inclined, closely spaced parallel plates to clear the resulting fines mixture. Thereafter, there is still further densifying of the sludge. By this method, a very dense sludge is obtained in a relatively small space.
