Systems and method for leveraging container orchestration systems to generate visualizations related to components or operations of an industrial automation system. In particular, a visual manager, a primary node of the container orchestration system, may receive a container image for operating an application of the industrial automation system. A visual manager may identify a container host from a cluster of nodes of the container orchestration system for executing the container in response to the container host meeting container orchestration constraints. Upon execution of the constraint, the container host may transmit configuration details for accessing a visualization associated with the container image to a thin client for display. In some embodiments, the container host, itself, may include a thin client device. Accordingly, the thin client device may execute the container and display the corresponding visualization.

Automation visualization content delivery via container orchestration systems

A combined visualization configuration is stored and provided by a visualization manager to a thin client HMI. Based upon the configuration, the thin client HMI accesses individual visualizations from automation components, such as automation controllers, motor controllers, camera, and so forth. Policies may be established for users and their roles, and for particular thin client HMIs, and for particular locations of or around a machine or process being monitored and/or controlled. Based on the policies, the individual visualizations are combined and may be changed if one or more of the factors changes. Interactions with the individual visualizations of the combined visualization result in signals back to the automation components originating the visualizations.

Combined visualization thin client HMI system and method

A human interface technique is disclosed for industrial automation systems. The technique allows for visualizations to be distributed to interfaces, such as thin client interfaces, from automation components. For access to the content, a user may be initially authenticated in a first manner, such as by multi-factor authentication. Thereafter, or for a certain time or location, the user may be authenticated by a reduced number of factors, such as single-factor authentication. The authentication may be used to deliver the visualizations based on policies of a visualization manager, such as the user identification, the user role, the user location, and so forth. The reduced factor authentication allow for users to freely move and view visualizations on any available device, or at different locations, and so forth, but still based on the policies.

Persistent authentication in dynamic automation visualization content delivery

A system for configuring and providing automated access to content based on the access rights of a mobile computing device, the location of a mobile computing device, and the user operating the mobile computing device. The system uses a centralized database and management system to configure and manage access to content. The system determines the information that is relevant when a device and user are physically present at a specific location. The system then facilitates access to content on the mobile computing device for user interaction. Access to information is controlled by the system based on a combination of permissions shared by the mobile computing device, the user, and the current location. In one embodiment, access to content is governed by the spatial proximity of the device to some physical asset. In one embodiment, multiple location checks are performed before content is delivered.
