A method of driving a rod into the ground comprises coupling an impact portion of an attachment to a powered hammer, positioning the rod between a first jaw of the attachment and a second jaw of the attachment, activating a first motor to move the first jaw toward the second jaw, such that the rod is clamped between the two jaws, and activating a second motor to drive an axial impact mechanism of the powered hammer to deliver repeated axial impacts to the impact portion of the attachment.

Attachment for powered hammer

A vehicle battery jump starter that is powered by a removable and rechargeable battery pack, such as a battery pack used with various hand-held power tools. The battery pack removably connects to a vehicle battery jump starter and can be selectively used to charge a power boost module within the vehicle battery jump starter. The power boost module includes, for example, a plurality of supercapacitors or lithium polymer battery cells. The power boost module in combination with the battery packcan be used to jump start a vehicle battery.

A computer server rack for mechanically supporting and electrically powering computer servers is provided. The rack includes DC-to-DC conversion circuits which are configured to convert a relatively high DC facility voltage (e.g. 380 volts DC provided throughout a data center on busways and/or appropriate wiring) to DC voltage useable directly by a computer server (e.g. 12 volts DC). The conversion circuits are highly efficient and convert substantially all of power input to the circuits at the input voltage and input DC current to a high DC output current at a lower output voltage. The conversion circuits are distributed among the computer servers in an electrically parallel arrangement to provide a predetermined level of redundancy, to permit replacement of the circuits without disrupting power to the servers in the rack, to reduce variations in the voltage supplied to the servers along rack bus bars or power conductors as a result of the current flowing and the impedance of the bus bars or conductors distances between conversion circuits and servers distributed within the rack, and to increase the internal server volume dedicated to the servers.

Computer server rack systems with improved power distribution

Improved electrical power conversion system configured to transfer power between a DC voltage differential occurring between input DC terminals and lower DC voltage differential made up of the output differential voltages between a positive output DC terminal and a system neutral terminal and a negative output DC terminal and the system neutral terminal. The system actively controls the output differential voltages to account for variations in the electrical loading placed on the system. The system also actively controls the neutral voltage differential between the neutral terminal and Earth Ground. The output differential voltages are controlled to be maintained within an acceptable range for the types of electrical loads powered by the system (e.g. computers, servers, LED lighting) and to the extent the differentials vary, the system corrects the variances at frequencies which do not adversely affect system circuit protection or the electrical loading on the system. Similarly, control of the neutral voltage differential is performed to maintain the differential constant (preferably at about 0 volts) and corrects variances at frequencies which do not adversely affect system circuit protection or the electrical loading on the system.
