A chum dispensing assembly comprising a container having a substantially elongated, cylindrical configuration defining a hollow interior for the containment of chum. The container comprises a separable portion movably mounted on or connected to a remainder of the container by a connecting assembly disposed and structured to facilitate substantially linear, axial displacement of the separable portion outwardly from the remainder of the container to form a dispensing opening through which chum passes from the hollow interior. Displacement of the separable portion into the open position is normally accomplished by a predetermined 'pulling' force exerted on an upper end of the container when submerged at a location where the chum is intended to be dispensed.

A detergent package containing a solid cast detergent for use in ware and hard surface washing applications. The cast detergent contains alkaline chemicals and a phosphate-based sequestering agent. The cast detergent preferably contains less than about 25% by weight of an alkali metal hydroxide and at least about 30% by weight of fused alkali metal orthosilicate as the alkaline chemical. The cast detergent is solid at room temperature and is surrounded on all but one surface by a multi-chambered receiver. The receiver is separated into a plurality of compartments in order to separate the alkaline chemicals and the phosphate-based sequestering agent and other chemically incompatible detergent compounds.

Rust inhibiting compositions having improved elasticity properties are provided. The compositions contain oxime based rust converter compounds formulated with a latex based paint to provide a flexible film coating that acts as a barrier to oxygen and water vapor diffusion to the metal surface. Methods for applying the rust inhibiting compositions to metal surfaces are also provided.
