An encapsulated toner composition with a melting temperature of from about 65.degree. C. to about 140.degree. C. comprised of a core containing a polymer selected from the group consisting of polyethylene succinate, polyhalogenated olefins, poly(alpha-alkylstyrenes), rosin modified maleic resins, aliphatic hydrocarbon resins, poly(.epsilon.-caprolactones), and mixtures thereof; and pigment particles, where the core is encapsulated in a shell prepared by interfacial polymerization reactions.

Low melting encapsulated toners

An emulsion process for the preparation of thermal ink donor films which comprises (1) the addition of wax or soluble polymer components to a warm hydrocarbon solution; (2) adding thereto first additives that are soluble in the solution; (3) forming an emulsion thereof by adding the formed solution to an alcohol or a polar solvent, which may also contain dissolved second additives, grinding the resulting emulsion with a suitable pigment; (4) coating the product obtained on a supporting substrate; and (5) thereafter heating to enable evaporation of the hydrocarbon.

Processes for thermal transfer ink donor films

Disclosed is a process for the preparation of ink compositions useful for jet printing processes which comprises (1) dissolving in water immiscible organic solvent a polymer composition and an organic oil soluble dye; (2) adding an aqueous phase water surfactant mixture thereto; (3) affecting emulsification thereof; and (4) subsequently evaporating from the aforementioned mixture the solvent thereby resulting in an ink with the dye trapped in the polymer particles suspended in the aqueous phase.

Preparation of ink jet compositions

An improved process for obtaining colored toner compositions by dispersion polymerization which comprises providing a monomer solution with stabilizer therein, polymerizing the resulting mixture, adding thereto a dye solution comprised of an organic solvent having dissolved therein oil soluble dyes, causing the dye solution to diffuse into the polymer particles, and subsequently separating the resulting toner particles, wherein the stabilizer is permanently attached to the toner polymer particles.

Process for colored toner compositions with controlled charges thereon

Disclosed is an improved layered photoresponsive imaging member comprised of (1) a supporting substrate, (2) a photogenerating layer comprised of a dihydroxymetallic phthalocyanine, especially those selected from the group consisting of dihydroxygermanium phthalocyanine, dihydroxytin phthalocyanine and dihydroxysilicon phthalocyanine, and (3) a diamine hole transport layer comprised of an arylamine dispersed in an inactive resinous binder composition.
