A flow regulator for a pump, particularly a vane pump, which regulates the fluid flow delivered to a consumer by the pump, and has a control piston acted on by the pressure built up by the pump, on the one hand, and, on the other, is acted upon by an initial force counteracting this pressure, and has a control edge, which interacts with the discharge bore, and a continuation, which penetrates an aperture, to form a delivery throttle, which is dependent on the piston path. The outside surface (31) of the continuation (25) of the control piston (5) has at least two regions (35, 37) with different outside diameters, separated from one another by a sharp-edged step (39).

Flow regulator

A vane pump including a rotor, which is arranged within a cam ring located in the pump housing, and which carries a plurality of radially displaceable vanes which are also displaceable along the inner double-symmetrical contour of the cam ring, with the inner contour defining two diametrically opposite pump chambers and with each chamber being divided in three sections forming, respectively, a suction region, a pressure region, and a separation region between the suction and pressure regions.

Vane pump

A valve assembly used in combination with a pressurized-fluid source having a high-pressure side and a low-pressure side and a load has a pressure-actuated flow regulating valve having a housing and a valve body movable in the housing and defining therein a pump compartment connectable to the high-pressure side of the source and a load compartment connectable to the load. The body is movable between a front position permitting free flow from the pump to the load compartment and a rear position limiting such flow. The valve body is formed with a throughgoing bypass passage having one end open into the load compartment and an opposite end. A spring braced between the valve body and the housing urges the valve body forwardly along an axis toward the load compartment. A relief valve in the housing connected to the opposite bypass passage end and to the low-pressure side of the source relieves pressure in the load compartment when pressure in the load compartment exceeds a predetermined limit.
