A filter cartridge and filter assembly using the filter cartridge is provided. The filter cartridge having a contoured end member to angularly orient and/or axially orient the filter cartridge, and particularly a seal thereof, relative to a filter housing. The filter housing is reconfigurable to allow it to be used in different locations having different spatial configurations.

Air cleaner with high performance seal and media

A filter element is provided that is preferably a side entry air filter having an air filter media pack, a housing seal and a frame that has a clamping projection, a pivot projection and/or guide members. The clamping projection can define a non-linear bearing surface that may be chevron shaped to provide for interface and potential alignment benefits. The housing seal may be a wave seal that undulates.

Non-cylindrical filter and side entry air cleaner incorporating the same

A filter cartridge () with a first end cap () comprising a rigid adaptor ring () and a seal structure (). The adaptor ring () includes a shelf () on which the first axial edge () of filtering media () sits and a clip () situated radially and axially outward from the filtering media (). The seal structure () encapsulates the shelf () and a first end portion () of the filter media (). The clip () is not encapsulated by the seal structure () whereby it is available for insertion into a housing channel.
