Optimized detachment systems based on leverage from electrical locus targeting and related medical devices

The methods and apparatus disclosed in this document may be used to create parts with void features such as holes, cavities, channels, slots, and the like. In some embodiments, the void features have a large depth to width aspect ratio. In some embodiments, the void features are formed in pliable, resilient and/or elastomeric materials. In some embodiments, the void features are formed in parts comprising silicone elastomer or silicone rubber. The void features may be adapted and configured for use in medical applications, aerospace applications, electrical applications, and/or industrial applications in some embodiments.

Pliable material milling technology

The invention provides devices and methods for aneurysm treatment using a material that minimizes susceptibility artifacts in MRA images. Since images are not obscured by susceptibility artifacts associated with the aneurysm treatment device, those images are useful and reliable for evaluating the success of treatment. The material is preferably a non-ferromagnetic metal alloy and may include one or a combination of cobalt, nickel, chromium, and molybdenum. In certain embodiments, the material is a 35Cobalt-35Nickel-20Chromium-10Molybdenum-Low Titanium alloy medical-grade material.

Devices and methods for aneurysm treatment

Vaso-impacting implants and novel methods of making coils, stent-trievers, flow diverters and the like enable aneurysm treatment, including in the brain. Refined and variegated framing and complex coils provide for rapid electrolytic detachment, including less than 20 second embodiments. Novel enhanced mandrels, fittings and winding schemes are likewise disclosed improving the standard of care and state of the art.

Coil system

An embolization device for treating ischemic stroke is disclosed, having a surface, wherein the body portion is configured to have a radiopaque and electropositive surface under physiological conditions when the device is emplaced, which ionically binds a blood component in an amount effective to promote stability of device in situ to bind to a tissue component in an amount effective to increase adhesion of the device as compared to a device without an electropositive surface. Embolic coils being so delivered are electrolytically detachable in under 10 seconds, according to the disclosed vascular implant systems.
