Systems, devices and methods for resizing a valve annulus are described. An implant is delivered proximate a mitral valve, the implant comprising a tubular body and a plurality of piercing helical anchors, the tubular body comprising an proximal diameter and a distal diameter. Tissue proximate the mitral valve is engaged by rotating the plurality of anchors with corresponding rotational drivers. The tubular body may be transitioned from a first structural configuration having the proximal diameter smaller than the distal diameter to a second structural configuration having the proximal diameter larger than the distal diameter.

Cardiac prosthesis

Methods and devices for transvascular prosthetic chordae tendinea implantation are disclosed. A catheter is advanced into the left atrium, through the mitral valve, and into the left ventricle. A ventricular anchor is deployed from the catheter and into a wall of the left ventricle, leaving a ventricular suture attached to the ventricular anchor and extending proximally through the catheter. A leaflet anchor is deployed to secure a mitral valve leaflet to a leaflet suture, with the leaflet suture extending proximally through the catheter. The leaflet suture is secured to the ventricular suture to limit a range of travel of the leaflet in the direction of the left atrium. Also disclosed is an assembled in situ mitral valve leaflet restraint, having a neo papillary muscle and a neo chordae tendinea.

Method and apparatus for transvascular implantation of neo chordae tendinae

Systems, devices, and methods for adjusting cardiac tissue are described involving adjustment of a frame element of an implantable device relative to the cardiac tissue. At least a component of the implantable device is rotated relative to the cardiac tissue and/or another component of the implantable device. At least a component of the implantable device is axially movable relative to the cardiac tissue and/or another component of the implantable device.

This disclosure includes apparatuses and techniques to access the right ventricle via trans-femoral vein threading a catheter or catheters to the apex or bottom of the right ventricle. Piercing through the venous or right side of the heart in the interventricular septal wall to access the left ventricle a catheter can be passed to turn upward pointing to the mitral valve. From this access point in the left ventricle the flail mitral leaflet can be sutured and tethered pulling it back into position and reattached with a grounding anchor in the right ventricle or imbedding the anchor into the septal wall. The interventricular septal wall crossing technique could include the passing of a coaxial catheter through the first access catheter where the first access catheter could act as a guide to direct the internal or second coaxial catheter toward the flail mitral leaflet.

Mitral leaflet tethering

Disclosed are embodiments of a device for closing or occluding a cavity or opening within a body. Some embodiments of the device can include an implant configured to be deployed within the cavity, configured to be expanded or moved against a wall portion of the cavity, and configured to twist at least a portion of the cavity when the implant is rotated. Thereafter, a securing element, staple, suture, or other fastener can be implanted in the gathered tissue to hold the tissue in the gathered state, thereby occluding the opening of the cavity. The implant can remain in the cavity or be removed.

Devices, systems, and methods for occluding cavities within the body

In some embodiments a multi-filter blood filtering system captures and removes particulates dislodge or generated during a surgical procedure and circulating in a patient's vasculature. Single filter and multi-filter endolumenal methods and systems for filtering fluids within the body. In some embodiments a blood filtering system captures and removes particulates dislodged or generated during a surgical procedure and circulating in a patient's vasculature. In some embodiments a filter system protects the cerebral vasculature during a cardiac valve repair or replacement procedure.

Method of isolating the cerebral circulation during a cardiac procedure

Disclosed is a novel filter and delivery means. The device described within will not interfere with standard practice and tools used during standard surgical procedures and tools such as cannulas, clamps or dissection instruments including valve replacement sizing gages or other surgical procedures where the patient must be put on a heart-lung machine cross-clamping the aorta.

Intravascular blood filter

Excessive dilation of the annulus of a mitral valve may lead to regurgitation of blood during ventricular contraction. This regurgitation may lead to a reduction in cardiac output. Disclosed are systems and methods relating to an implant configured for reshaping a mitral valve. The implant comprises a plurality of struts with anchors for tissue engagement. The implant is compressible to a first, reduced diameter for transluminal navigation and delivery to the left atrium of a heart. The implant may then expand to a second, enlarged diameter to embed its anchors to the tissue surrounding and/or including the mitral valve. The implant may then contract to a third, intermediate diameter, pulling the tissue radially inwardly, thereby reducing the mitral valve and lessening any of the associated symptoms including mitral regurgitation.

Adjustable endolumenal implant for reshaping the mitral valve annulus

Features for a heart valve device are described. The device may include a frame with anchors configured to secure the device to tissue. The frame may include a flared end or skirt for additional securement of the implanted device. The device may include a seal such as a barrier and/or cuff for preventing leakage. The device may contract for endovascular delivery of the device to the heart and expand for securement within the heart, such as the within the native mitral valve annulus. The device may include a replacement valve. The valve may have leaflets configured to re-direct blood flow along a primary flow axis.

Valve replacement using moveable restraints and angled struts

Systems, devices and methods related to various heart valve implants and for delivery of those heart valve implants are described. The implants may be used to re-size a native valve annulus or to replace a native heart valve. The implants include a re-sizable frame having angled struts. Anchors secure the implant to tissue and collars are used to decrease the angle between the struts and contract the frame. The implant thus expands from a first size inside of a delivery catheter, to a second and larger deployed size inside the heart to engage and anchor with the tissue, and then to a third and contracted size to re-size the annulus and/or provide a secure fit for a replacement heart valve. Various delivery systems including imaging capabilities for precise delivery, positioning and anchoring of the various implants are further described.
