A collimation assembly includes a body, at least four light sources, and at least four collimation lenses. The body has inner surfaces that define at least four hollow portions extending through the body between opposed first and second sides thereof, each hollow portion having opposed first and second openings at the first and second sides of the body, respectively. Each light source is disposed at the first opening of one of the at least four hollow portions and controllable to emit a light beam therethrough. Each collimation lens is disposed at the second opening of one of the at least four hollow portions to receive the light beam emitted by the light source disposed at the first opening and diverge the light beam as the light beam passes through the collimation lens. The at least four light sources and the at least four collimation lenses are supported by the body.

Collimation assembly for an imaging device

A developer roll includes end seal regions subject to accumulating residual toner. An adjacent photoconductive member has a longitudinal extent with a central area defining an imaging region and longitudinal ends outside the central area defining non-imaging regions. The photoconductive member has a length extending beyond a length of the developer roll so that the end seal regions of the developer roll contact the non-imaging regions of the photoconductive member. During cleaning, the non-imaging regions become charged and discharged to electrostatically attract and transfer away the toner from the end seal regions. A blade scrapes clean the toner from the photoconductive member.

A scan unit for an imaging device having a movable mirror and one or more light sources. A light beam generated by each light source is directed towards the movable mirror, movement of the mirror causing each light beam that is reflected by the mirror to follow a distinct scan pattern. An optical assembly is associated with each reflected light beam to form an optical path for each reflected light beam from the mirror. A housing in which the movable mirror, the one or more light sources and the optical assembly are secured has at least a portion made from electrically conductive material for shielding an interior of the housing from electromagnetic fields external to the housing. A light drive circuitry card is disposed in the interior of the housing and communicatively coupled to the one or more light sources for driving the one or more light sources.

Laser scan unit housing for an image forming device

A scan unit printhead of an imaging device having an adjustable mirror mounting. The scan unit includes a housing to which a rotatable minor, one or more light sources and an optical assembly are secured. The scan unit also includes a motor for driving the rotatable mirror, a plurality of fasteners for securing the motor to the housing and a plurality of spacers interposed between a base associated with the motor and the housing. The plurality of spacers resiliently bias the base of the motor away from the housing such that each of the plurality of spacers allows relative adjustment of a space between the base of the motor and the housing during a tightening and loosening operation of at least one of the to plurality of fasteners.

Adjustable mirror motor mounting for laser printhead

A housing for the scan unit printhead of an imaging device. The housing is substantially bowl shaped having a plurality of mounting surfaces extending inwardly toward a central region of the housing. The housing is constructed from a metal composition. The scan unit includes a plurality of light sources and an optical assembly operatively coupled thereto. The housing mounting surfaces support components of the optical assembly using an adhesive, without additional mounting hardware.

A mounting assembly, for mounting a reflection mirror within a laser scanning unit, includes a mounting structure, and a pair of urging members. The mounting structure includes a base member, and a first pair of support protrusions and a second pair of support protrusions configured on the base member. Each of the first pair of support protrusions and the second pair of support protrusions includes a first support protrusion having a first top surface, and a second support protrusion having a second top surface. The first support protrusion is capable of supporting an end portion of the reflection mirror on the first top surface. Each urging member of the pair of urging members is adapted to be secured over the second top surface of the second support protrusion for urging the end portion of the reflection mirror on the first support protrusion.

An imaging apparatus is provided including a frame having a portion upon which a printhead is adapted to be mounted. The printhead may include a housing including a main body, at least one flexible mounting beam extending from the main body, and at least one structural member coupled to the at least one flexible mounting beam. The printhead may also include a skew correction mechanism mounted to the printhead housing. The skew correction mechanism may include an adjustment member capable of engaging at least one surface on the printhead housing so as to adjust the position of the printhead housing relative to the frame portion.

A laser scanning unit is provided comprising: a housing; a scanning device; a first pre-scan assembly generating a first light beam and directing the first light beam toward the scanning device; a second pre-scan assembly generating a second light beam and directing the second light beam toward the scanning device; a first post-scan assembly receiving the first light beam reflected from the scanning device and causing a first portion of the first light beam to scan along a first scan path; and a second post-scan assembly receiving the second light beam reflected from the scanning device and causing a first portion of the second light beam to scan along a second scan path. The first post-scan assembly further reflects a second portion of the first light beam in a direction away from the first scan path. A shield is associated with the housing for blocking the second portion of the first light beam reflected by the first post-scan assembly during at least a portion of the scan of the first portion of the first light beam along the first scan path so as to prevent the second portion of the first light beam from entering the second post-scan assembly.
