A stimulation system includes an implantable pulse generator having a sealed chamber and an electronic subassembly disposed in the sealed chamber. Feed through pins are coupled to the electronic subassembly and extend out of the sealed chamber. Feed through interconnects are coupled to the electronic subassembly via the feed through pins. At least one tab is disposed on at least one feed through interconnect. The tab(s) are configured and arranged to flex away from the feed through interconnect and against a side of the feed through pin. A feed through interconnect assembly includes an assembly frame; feed through interconnects extending from the assembly frame; a first contact pad and a second contact pad disposed on at least one of the feed through interconnects; and a tab formed on a first contact pad of at least one of the feed through interconnects.

A control module for providing electrical stimulation of patient tissue includes a header disposed over an electrical interface. A connector assembly retainer is disposed in the header and coupled to the electrical interface. The connector assembly retainer includes a plurality of channels and a plurality of apertures defined at one end of the connector assembly retainer. Each of a plurality of connector assemblies is disposed in a different one of the plurality of channels of the connector assembly retainer. Each of the plurality of connector assemblies is configured and arranged for receiving a portion of a lead or lead extension and coupling the lead or lead extension to the electronic subassembly.

Systems and methods for making and using connector assembly retainers for electrical stimulation systems

An electrode has a unitary ring with an exterior surface, interior surface, and at least two edges. The electrode also includes a seat formed in at least the exterior surface of the unitary ring. The seat is configured and arranged for attachment of a terminal end of a lead wire, disposed in the seat, to the electrode. A lead includes a lead body; a plurality of electrodes disposed at the distal end of the lead body; and a plurality of lead wires. Each electrode includes a unitary ring and a seat in the unitary ring. The unitary ring has an exterior surface and an interior surface and defines a hollow center region. The seat is formed as a depression of a portion of the unitary ring. Each of the lead wires extends along the lead body and is attached to a corresponding electrode at the seat of the corresponding electrode.

A connector for an electrical stimulation system includes an assembly of individual contact modules arranged along a common axis. Each contact module includes a body having a seat and at least two insertion apertures. An aperture contact is associated with each of the insertion apertures and is configured and arranged to electrically couple to a terminal of an elongated member when the elongated member is inserted into the associated insertion aperture. A seal plate is disposed in each seat of an associated one of the contact modules such that the seal plate is sandwiched between adjacent contact modules. Each seal plate is configured and arranged to electrically isolate the aperture contacts of the associated contact module from the aperture contacts of the other contact modules.

Multi-port modular connector for implantable electrical stimulation systems and methods of making and using

An implantable control module of an electrical stimulation system includes a housing, an electronic subassembly disposed in the housing, and a plurality of conductors. The housing defines a connector receptacle configured and arranged to receive a proximal end of a lead. The housing further defines, within the connector receptacle region, a plurality of spaced-apart leaf spring connective contacts. Each leaf spring connective contact is corrugated and wrapped around at least a portion of an inner surface of the connector receptacle. Each conductor couples the electronic subassembly with at least one of the leaf spring connective contacts.

Implantable electrical stimulation systems with leaf spring connective contacts and methods of making and using

A connector includes a unitary body defining a hollow center region configured and arranged to receive a proximal contact portion of a lead. The unitary body may define connector pockets and seal features within the hollow center region. The connector pockets can be spaced-apart and may define openings through the unitary body. The seal features may be disposed between the connector pockets.
