Techniques are disclosed for generating a pixel-aligned layout grid. In some examples, a method may include receiving an input that quantifies a selected one of multiple horizontal dimensions, a number of columns, a column width, a gutter width, and a margin width, of a layout grid. The method may also include, responsive to receiving the input, calculating respective integer values for the remaining multiple horizontal dimensions based on the received input quantifying the selected one of the multiple horizontal dimensions. The method may further include generating a layout grid based on the integer values for the remaining multiple horizontal dimensions and the received input quantifying the selected one of the multiple horizontal dimensions, and rendering the generated layout grid as a pixel-aligned layout grid.

Systems and methods are provided for managing, in a software development environment, related files that are used for generating an output presentation document. A software development environment discovers the related files for an application (e.g., web page) that is being authored, and the software development tool presents a visual indication (e.g., graphical tabs) of the discovered related files in a user interface. The software development tool further aids in managing the presentation of the related files by enabling any of the related files to be selectively displayed in a designated interface (e.g., window). That is, a designated interface may be provided in which the content of any selected related file may be alternately displayed in response to a user selecting a visual indication of a related file. In one embodiment, the designated interface is a textual source code view interface that is provided by the software development tool.

Systems and methods for managing related files in a software development environment

Systems and methods for displaying and editing state-specific link attributes during the development of electronic content. The states of HTML links, which can be defined by CSS pseudo classes, can be displayed and edited using visual interface features of a content creation application. Such features can provide convenient ways to view multiple links simultaneously in a selected state and to edit the appearance of a state that is applicable to multiple links used in a piece of content being developed. The user interface of a content creation application can provide a button, command, or other user-selectable option that sets the state in which link representations are displayed. This can be achieved, as an example, in the case of HTML links defined by CSS pseudo classes, by filtering links based on state so that all displayed links display in the selected state, e.g., in the :link, :visited, :hover, :active, or :focus state.

Systems and methods for displaying and editing state-specific link attributes

Identification and correction of rendering problems that occur when a document (e.g., a web page) is displayed by a document viewer (e.g., web browser) are described. In one exemplary embodiment, a web page has a first element written in a markup language and a second element written in a style sheet language. A method includes receiving a command at a development environment, analyzing a structure of an electronic document responsive to the command, the electronic document having a first element written in a first computer language and a second element written in a second computer language, identifying a relationship between the first and second elements, wherein the relationship causes a rendering problem associated with a document viewer, and presenting information to the user about the rendering problem via the development environment.
