A wiper seal assembly for a reciprocating pump, the pump including a power section configured to be powered by a motor, a fluid section having an inlet and an outlet, and a plunger having a longitudinal plunger axis, a first end coupled to the power section, and a second end opposite the first end and disposed within the fluid section. The wiper seal assembly includes a cover mounted to the power section. In addition, the wiper seal assembly includes a first wiper seal radially disposed between the cover and the plunger. Further, the wiper seal assembly includes a splash guard disposed about the plunger and axially spaced from the cover. Still further, the wiper seal assembly includes a biasing member axially biasing the splash guard away from the first wiper seal.

Wiper seal assemblies for a reciprocating pump and methods relating thereto

A device for monitoring a seal assembly includes a body having a central axis and a through-passage, a piston slidably disposed in the through-passage and biased towards one end of the body by a biasing member, and a signaling assembly coupled to the body. The signaling assembly includes an indicator and a switch coupled to the indicator. The through-passage and the piston are exposed to a fluid pressure in the seal assembly. The piston is configured to translate axially in the through-passage to transition the switch between a first position and a second position, allowing the switch to transition the indicator between a deactivated state and an activated state.

System and method for monitoring seals between a stationary conduit and a rotating conduit

Apparatus and methods for removing valve cover components includes a torque transfer tool that mates with an extending portion of the valve cover assembly and has a multi-faceted segment to receive a torque-supplying wrench. A hydraulically-actuated wrench has a head with a multi-faceted portion that engages the corresponding multi-faceted segment of the torque transfer tool. The wrench's hydraulic cylinder rotates the wrench head upon actuation. The multifaceted segments can be splined. Also disclosed is a reaction tube against which the wrench can be braced prior to actuation of the cylinder.

Method and apparatus for installation and removal of a valve cover

A gate valve comprises a valve body having an internal working fluid passage and an internal gate chamber extending transverse to the working fluid passage. In addition, the gate valve comprises a gate disposed in the internal gate chamber and movable within the gate chamber between a closed position obstructing fluid flow through the working fluid passage and an open position allowing fluid flow through the working fluid passage. Further, the gate valve comprises an internal sealing arrangement coaxially disposed in the working fluid passage and extending between the valve body and the gate to form a barrier between the internal working fluid passage and the gate chamber. The internal sealing arrangement includes a frustoconical metal sealing surface adapted to sealingly engage an opposed mating frustoconical metal sealing surface on the valve body to form a first tapered metal-to-metal seal between the sealing arrangement and the valve body.

Gate valve

A reciprocating pump including a piston is disclosed. In some embodiments, the piston includes an annular hub, a flexible sealing element coupled to an outer surface of the hub, and a sleeve seated on the outer surface of the hub adjacent the sealing element. The sleeve is axially moveable relative to the hub to compress the sealing element. The sealing element includes a lip, which is displaced radially outward when the sleeve compresses the sealing element.

Reciprocating pump having a piston assembly

A valve cover assembly for a pump. In an embodiment, the valve cover assembly comprises a first cylindrical member having a central axis and a first throughbore. In addition, the valve cover assembly comprises a second cylindrical member coaxially disposed within the first throughbore and rotatable relative to the first cylindrical member about the central axis between a first position and a second position. In the first position, the second cylindrical member is axially translatable relative to the first cylindrical member. In the second position, the second cylindrical member is axially fixed relative to the first cylindrical member.

Valve cover assembly and method of using the same

A fluid section for a reciprocating pump comprises a cylinder assembly including a housing having a central axis, a first end, a second end opposite the first end, and a throughbore extending axially between the first end and the second end. In addition, the cylinder assembly includes a liner disposed within the throughbore of the housing. Further, the cylinder assembly includes an end cap coupled to the second end of the housing. Still further, the cylinder assembly includes an annulus radially positioned between the liner and the housing, the annulus being in fluid communication with the throughbore of the liner. Moreover, the fluid section includes a piston slidingly disposed in the throughbore of the liner. The piston is adapted to compress a fluid disposed in a pumping chamber within the liner extending axially through the throughbore of the liner between the piston and the first end of the housing.

Mud pump cylinder assembly and liner system

A connector assembly comprising a housing and a tensile member disposed within the housing. The tensile member comprises first and second end portions. Each end portion sealingly engages the housing to form a hydraulic chamber therebetween. A first connector pivotally coupled to the first end portion. The axial position of the first connector relative to the housing is controlled by pressure within the hydraulic chamber.

Piston rod retention system

A seal assembly, for sealing between a stationary conduit and a rotating conduit, comprises an upper gland assembly, a washpipe, and a lower gland assembly. The upper gland assembly is operable to engage the stationary conduit. A washpipe partially disposed within the upper gland assembly. An upper seal member is disposed within the upper gland assembly around a periphery of the washpipe. An upper packing ring is engaged with the upper gland assembly so as to compress the upper seal member into sealing engagement with the washpipe. A lower gland assembly is disposed about the washpipe and operable to engage the rotating conduit. A lower seal member is disposed within the lower gland assembly and is compressed into sealing engagement with the washpipe by a lower packing ring that is engaged with the lower gland assembly. The engagement of the packing rings with their respective gland assemblies is independent of the engagement of the gland assemblies and the conduits.

Apparatus for interconnecting and sealing between fixed and rotating conduits and methods of installing same

Methods and apparatus for securing a cylinder liner to a pump module. A tension body is disposed about the cylinder liner and attached to the pump module. A locking body engages the cylinder liner and is threaded to the tension body. A hydraulic load cell is removably attached to the tension body and includes a hydraulic ram arranged to impart a compressive load to the cylinder liner and a tension load in the tension body. The locking body can be adjusted axially to contact the cylinder liner and maintain the applied loads, which act as a pre-load to keep the cylinder liner in contact with the pump module.

Hydraulic retention system for reciprocating pump cylinder liner

A hydraulic connector assembly is provided to couple an extension rod to a piston rod in a reciprocating pump. The connector assembly utilizes a single hydraulic ram to provide the compressive connecting force between the two rods. The connector assembly includes a mechanism for mechanically locking the hydraulic ram in place so that loss of hydraulic power does not uncouple the assembly. The piston rod and the connector rod can be coupled and uncoupled without the use of heavy wrenches, hammers, or impact tools.
