Groups of a plurality of tenants are mapped to identity management classes corresponding to respective roles that grant respective permissions. The identity management classes are associated with hierarchical delegation information that specify delegation rights among the identity management classes, the delegation rights specifying rights of members of the respective identity management classes to perform delegation with respect to further members of the identity management classes. In response to a request by a first member of a first of the identity management classes to perform delegation with respect to a second member of one of the identity management classes, it is determined, based on the hierarchical delegation information, whether the first member is allowed to perform the delegation with respect to the second member.

One method for dynamically installing an image processing filter includes starting to obtain image information by infrastructure of an image processing device and processing the obtained image information with an application. After starting to obtain image information, receiving an operating system (OS) application programming interface (API) allowing just-in-time (JIT) bytecode to be executed as a filter during processing the obtained image information.

The accessory device is to be used by a web application running on a computing device connected to the electronic device over a network. The accessory device has a shared context or an owned context. An exemplary device implementation includes: a manager that is capable of monitoring a process for preparing a page for printing; and a print engine that is capable of printing the page after the process for preparing the page for printing is complete; wherein the device is adapted to temporally overlap the process for preparing the page for printing with preparation of the print engine for printing. An exemplary method implementation includes actions of: beginning processing of a page of a printing job; providing at least one command to a print engine responsive to at least one time remaining estimate for the processing of the page of the printing job prior to completion of the processing of the page of the printing job; and changing a state of the print engine responsive to the providing of the at least one command to the print engine.

In a laser printer having a plurality of lasers, each of which effectuates the deposition of toner onto lines of a page to be printed, a method of printing several lines substantially simultaneously comprises storing within a single print data buffer, print data compressed using a predetermined compression methodology. The method also includes decompressing a predetermined segment of said compressed print data by one of a plurality of data de-compressors, each of which is operatively coupled to a laser that effectuates the deposition of toner onto a single line of a media.

An apparatus for generating a data processing pathway in a hardware-ready format is provided which includes a computer-based client and an output device. The client has processing circuitry, memory, a raster formatter, and a software-based data compression apparatus configured to render a rasterized, bitmapped image into image data in a hardware-ready format. The output device communicates with the client and has hardware-ready program code and a hardware-assisted print device. The hardware-assisted print device includes a printer controller, with the printer controller including processing circuitry, memory, and a data decompressor. The hardware-ready program code is operative via the printer controller to receive the hardware-ready image data from the client and render output containing the image to the hardware-assisted print device. A method is also provided.

Various systems, methods, and programs embodied in computer readable mediums are provided for compression of a page frame that includes a number of pixels. In one embodiment, an object map is generated that includes a number of values, each of the values being associated with a corresponding one of the pixels in the page frame. Also, a compressed image file is generated of the page frame that is associated with the object map. Each of the values in the object map indicates whether a blank color conversion or one of a number of predefined color conversions is to be performed during a reconstruction of a corresponding one of the pixels, wherein each of the predefined color conversions includes a corresponding degree of gray component replacement.

The present invention is a method and system for mixed resolution, multi-channel color image processing including compression, transmission and decompression. The color information is defined at a lower resolution since colors generally do not change at a high frequency and higher compression ratios may be obtained with the lower resolution. The edge information contains the commands switch between the foreground and background colors. The edge information occurs at high resolution and high frequency rates relative to the color information. The lower resolution color planes can be pixel replicated to the resolution of the edge information after compression and decompression for proper edge selection to occur. The resulting reconstructed image of foreground and background colors retains high detail.

A system includes a plurality of print service providers and a print job oversight and analysis center. The print job oversight and analysis center is adapted to, in response to receiving a job requiring printing and delivering documents, determining geographic locations of recipients of the documents and selecting a subset of the print service providers to print the documents and send the documents to the recipients. Each of the print service providers in the subset of print service providers prints documents for a subset of the recipients. The documents are apportioned among the subset of print service providers based on the geographic locations of the recipients of the documents so as to coordinate delivery time from the subset of print service providers to the recipients.

A compression apparatus for compressing a digital image is disclosed and includes a decomposer, a transform encoder unit and a merge plane compressor. The digital image is converted by the compression apparatus into a set of tiles suitable for transform encoding. Each tile from the set is then compressed by converting the tile into a &ldquo;merge plane data string&rdquo; and an associated &ldquo;transform encoded data string&rdquo;. The merge plane data string describes only the spatial locations of the background pixels in the tile. The transform encoded data describes the tile in the frequency domain but without the spatial frequencies associated with the background pixels. One important use of the present invention is to compress digital images prior to transmitting the digital image to a printer for printing.

Image compression of background and text tiles

A computer for compressing a digital image. The computer is operable to decompose a digital image into a set of tiles and to classify certain tiles from the set as being low detail tiles. The computer is further operable to transform each tile from the set of tiles into a series of basis function coefficients to represent the tile in the frequency domain. The computer is responsive to a tile having more than four different pixel values and classified as a low detail tile by transforming the tile into a first series of basis function coefficients. The first series of basis function coefficients includes only four coefficients that have a non-zero value.

System for compression of digital images comprising low detail areas

Apparatus and method for compressing Huffman encoded data. The compression apparatus includes a string detector and a record generator. The compression apparatus operates to receive the Huffman encoded data and the length of the codewords used to generate the Huffman encoded data. The string detector then operates to detect each set of repeating strings and each non-repeating string in the encoded data. Each set of repeating strings is replaced with a record that indicates the length of the repeating string, the number of repeats and an instantiation of the repeating string. In addition, each non-repeating string is replaced with a record that indicates the length of the non-repeating string and the non-repeating string. The resulting compressed Huffman data can then be transmitted to a printer.
