A service entrance includes a post section, a service section, and a neutral bus disposed therebetween. The post section includes a first opening and a second opening, and is adapted to receive an electrical supply wire having a supply power wire and a supply neutral wire. The service section is disposed at the post section, and includes a third opening and a fourth opening, wherein the third opening is juxtaposed the first opening and the fourth opening is juxtaposed the second opening. The neutral bus, having a first end at the post section and a second end at the service section, is disposed passing through the second and fourth openings. The first end of the neutral bus is adapted to electrically connect with the supply neutral wire.

A planar member for use in a support structure, the planar member includes a plurality of apertures which are positioned to align with a set of openings in a wall of the support structure, the set of openings corresponding to a predetermined configuration of electrical components to be installed into the support structure. The number of openings in the wall are larger than the plurality of apertures in the planar member.

An electric disconnect switch assembly mounted within a disconnect enclosure for manually disconnecting electrical equipment from a source of supply power is presented. The electric disconnect switch assembly includes a receptacle and a handle assembly. The receptacle is attached to a bottom wall of the disconnect enclosure and accepts line and load stabs and line and load terminal lugs. The handle assembly includes a handle grip projecting from one end and a line blade and a load blade slidably engaged and extending from an opposite end thereof. The handle is slidably arranged within the receptacle wherein the line blade and the load blade are moved into and out of contact with the line and load stabs by manual operation of the handle grip.

Electrical disconnect switch assembly

A molded plastic enclosure of an electrical disconnect is presented. The disconnect has a switch mounted within the enclosure for manually disconnecting electrical equipment from a source of power. The disconnect enclosure includes a molded base hingedly attached to a cover. The base includes an interior compartment for mounting the disconnect switch therein. The base also includes a plurality of knockouts, which can be removed (knocked out) to provide access for electrical wiring. Each knockout has a plurality of concentric circular sections, each having an angular groove formed on their circumference. The smallest-diameter section includes a groove with a cross-sectional shape having a sharp corner (knife-edge) while the larger-diameter sections include grooves with cross sections having radiused corners. Additionally, the depth of the groove for smaller-diameter sections is greater than the depth of the groove for larger diameter sections.

Molded plastic enclosure

A disconnect having a switch mounted within an enclosure is presented. The enclosure comprises a base including a rear wall, and first and second sidewalls extending generally perpendicular from opposing side boundaries of the rear wall. The rear wall and first and second sidewalls define an interior compartment of the base for mounting the switch therein. The enclosure further comprises a cover sized to enclose the interior compartment. At least one pair of opposing protrusions extend inwardly from each of the first and second sidewalls. The pair of protrusions abut against opposing ends of the switch to restrain movement of the switch in a generally perpendicular direction and a laterally upward direction to the rear wall of the enclosure, when the disconnect switch is mounted in the disconnect enclosure. A retaining device, e.g., a ground terminal, abuts against the switch and is secured to the rear wall of the enclosure to restrain movement of the switch in a laterally downward direction.
