An integrally ballasted lamp assembly () including a spacer disk () disposed in a lamp receptacle cavity () between a lamp () and the bottom () of the lamp receptacle (). The disk () may be configured to contact connector clips () coupled to the bottom () of the lamp receptacle to positively align the clips () for connection to a ballast circuit disposed on a PCB (). The disk () may also, or alternatively, at least partially occlude connector clip openings () in the bottom () of the lamp receptacle () for hindering the flow of uncured cement () through the openings (), and may also, or alternatively, provide a thermal barrier between the lamp () and the lamp receptacle ().

An integral HID reflector lamp may be formed with an HID held in a reflector. An inner element is mechanically coupled to the reflector. The inner element is formed with a first mechanical coupling to mate with the reflector, a second mechanical coupling to mate with a circuit board, and an electrical coupling to at least electrically couple one of the leads to the circuit board. A circuit board has an edge mechanically coupled to the inner element and electrically connected to the leads by an electrical coupling on the inner element. A heat sink spans at least one side of the circuit board and forming an EMI shielding. An outer cover encloses the heat sink, circuit board, and inner element and coupled to the assembly of the reflector, HID lamp, inner element, and heat sink with each elements of the assembly clipped together.

Apparatus and method for use of a hip brace

A mounting member for supporting a shroud, and an arc tube located within such shroud, in an arc discharge lamp is provided. The mounting member includes at least two support clips welded to at least one support rod on the same side of the support rod. A bubble-in-the-press arc lamp is provided having at least one press seal that includes opposite walls. A bubble portion is formed in one wall, and the other wall includes a protrusion. The bubble portion extends towards one wall and the protrusion extends towards the other wall to hold a support clip of a supporting member therebetween. An electric lamp assembly is provided that includes the mounting means and/or the bubble-in-the-press arc tube of the present invention.

Arc tube, mounting member and electric lamp assembly

A mount assembly for supporting the arc tube of a lamp within an outer envelope has first and second axially aligned banding straps. Each of the straps has a closed crimp section and an open crimp section. The straps are positioned so that an open crimp section of one strap overlies a closed crimp section of the other strap, thereby equalizing tensions when the crimps are closed. The mount assembly includes also a mount frame comprised of two elongated rods which are affixed to the banding straps. The straps are mounted upon the glass stem of the lamp.

Mount assembly for arc lamp

A mechanism for fabricating a metalarc lamp. The metalarc lamp has a glass stem, mount frames, and a banding strap for circumferentially encompassing and binding the mount frames to the glass stem. The mechanism defines a horizontal plane for the mount frames. The banding strap is mechanically clamped about the glass stem at opposite pole centers. Then, interlocking portions of the banding strap are crimped to affix the mount frames with respect to the glass stem.

Lamp fabricating mechanism

A lamp mount assembly (9) includes: a centrally located glass stem (10) having a convex surface; upper and lower banding straps (11, 13) circumferentially encompassing, and crimped to, the centrally located glass stem (10), the banding straps (11, 13) each further comprising oppositely disposed crimp portions, a first of the crimp portions being an interlocking crimp portion (12a, 12b) and a second of the crimp portions being a solid crimp portion (13a), the interlocking crimp portion of the upper banding strap (11) overlying the solid crimp portion (13a) of the lower banding strap (13); and a pair of mount frames (14) disposed about the centrally located glass stem (10), the banding straps (11, 13) holding the mounting frames (14) in place about the glass stem (10), the mounting frames (14) having a coined, concave surface substantially matching the convex surface of the glass stem (10). The banding straps including oppositely disposed crimp portions, of the present invention, reduces breakage of the glass stem.
