A sensor for detecting voltage of a power cable includes a housing configured to be coupled around at least a portion of the power cable. A first conductive element supported by the housing is configured to be electrically coupled to the power cable when the housing is coupled around at least a portion of the power cable. A first capacitive element supported by the housing is electrically interconnected with the first conductive element. A second capacitive element supported by the housing is electrically interconnected with the first conductive element. A processor determines a cable capacitance of the power cable based upon alternatively sensing an electrical characteristic (i) the first capacitive element and the second capacitive element and (ii) the first capacitive element without the second capacitive element. The sensor determines the voltage of the power cable based upon the determined cable capacitance.

Non-contact voltage sensor

A sensing transformer includes a first transformer segment including a first magnetically permeable core having a sector having a planar cross-section bounded by a closed curve and having a first end and a second end. The first core includes a winding including at least one turn substantially encircling the cross-section of the core and a first segment housing enclosing the winding and a portion of the first core. A second transformer segment separable from the first transformer segment including a second magnetically permeable core having another sector having a third end and a fourth end.

Split core current transformer

A module including a case; an electrical switching device configured to control power to a load; and a controller coupled to the electrical switching device. The electrical switching device and the controller are substantially encapsulated by the case. Functionality of the module can be exposed through a communication interface in the case.

Electrical switching module

An apparatus including an electrical switching device to control current to a load and a second case arranged to substantially encapsulate the electrical switching device. The electrical switching device includes a first case; a plurality of contacts disposed in the first case; and an opening in the first case disposed to expose the contacts. The second case is arranged to duct a blast from the opening of the first case of the electrical switching device.
