Disclosed herein are systems and apparatus for detecting a traffic violation. In one embodiment, a system for detecting a traffic violation comprises a context camera assembly and a license plate recognition (LPR) camera assembly. The context camera assembly can comprise a context camera housing containing a context camera, a context camera mount configured to mount the context camera housing to an interior of a carrier vehicle, and a context camera skirt coupled to and protruding outwardly from the context camera housing. The license LPR camera assembly can comprise an LPR camera housing containing one or more LPR cameras, an LPR camera mount configured to mount the LPR camera housing to the interior of the carrier vehicle, and one or more LPR camera skirts coupled to and protruding outwardly from the LPR camera housing.

Ocular surface interferometry devices, systems, and methods are disclosed for imaging an ocular tear film. An imaging device can be focused on the lipid layer of the tear film to capture optical wave interference interactions of specularly reflected light from the tear film combined with a background signal(s) in a first image, wherein the specularly reflected light may be produced from various portions of the ocular tear film by obliquely illuminating various portions of the ocular tear film with a multi-wavelength light source, such as in a tiling pattern(s). The imaging device can also be focused on the lipid layer to capture a second image containing the background signal(s) present in the first image. The second image can be subtracted from the first image to reduce and/or eliminate the background signal(s) in the first image to produce a resulting image, which can used to measure a tear film layer thickness.

Ocular surface interferometry (OSI) for imaging, processing, and/or displaying an ocular tear film

An illuminator apparatus and method for illuminating an object field imaged by a rectangular image sensor having a first aspect ratio is disclosed. The apparatus includes an optical fiber having a proximal end disposed to receive a plurality of input light beams, each light beam having differing spectral properties, the optical fiber being operable to transmit the light beams along the fiber to a distal end of the optical fiber. The apparatus also includes an integrating element disposed to receive the light beams from the distal end of the fiber and combine the light beams to produce a generally homogenous illumination beam at a rectangular output face of the integrating element. The apparatus further includes an illumination projector operable to project an image of the output face of the integrating element into the object field to produce a generally rectangular illuminated region of the object field substantially corresponding to the portion of the object field imaged by the rectangular image sensor.

The present invention is an apparatus, device or tool for performing endoscopic (that is, minimally invasive) surgery. A stereoscopic image sensor apparatus including a pair of image sensors adjacently fabricated on a common carrier is disclosed, the common carrier being a diced portion of a carrier on which an aligned plurality of image sensors have been fabricated within an alignment tolerance, the alignment tolerance including a target lateral offset between the adjacent image sensors, and a target orientation between corresponding rows of light sensitive elements on the adjacent image sensors. An alternative stereoscopic image sensor apparatus includes a common window having first and second image sensors bonded to the common window within the alignment tolerance. Another alternative stereoscopic image sensor apparatus includes rear faces of respective first and second image sensors being bonded to a common circuit substrate within the alignment tolerance. Methods for fabricating the stereoscopic image sensors are also disclosed.

Background reduction apparatuses and methods of Ocular Surface Interferometry (OSI) employing polarization are disclosed for measuring a tear film layer thickness (TFLT) of the ocular tear film, including lipid layer thickness (LLT) and/or aqueous layer thickness (ALT) and can be used to evaluate and potentially diagnosis dry eye syndrome (DES). In certain disclosed embodiments, a multi-wavelength light source can be controlled to illuminate the ocular tear film. Light emitted from the multi-wavelength light source undergoes optical wave interference interactions in the tear film. An imaging device can be focused on the lipid layer of the tear film to capture optical wave interference interactions of specularly reflected light from the tear film combined with a background signal(s) in at least one image. The at least one image can be processed and analyzed to measure a tear film layer thickness (TFLT), including lipid layer thickness (LLT) and/or aqueous layer thickness (ALT).
