Tool for changing strings on a stringed instrument

A file for use in forming a groove in a nut or bridge of a string musical instrument. The file includes a filing edge that is rounded to the same radius as the string to be fitted in the groove it forms in the nut and bridge. A spine or rib is formed along the upper edge of the file to provide stiffening and permitting the file to not bow or flex when being used.

An acoustic guitar strap lock adapter that utilizes a conventional strap lock system in a manner that does not require modification to be made to the guitar. The adapter includes an elongated body having first and second ends, a first opening formed through the elongated body adjacent the first end thereof and being internally threaded to co-axially engage with the guitar's pick-up jack; and a second opening formed through the elongated body adjacent the second end thereof and being configured to securely receive a strap lock therein, whereby the guitar strap can be anchored to the acoustic guitar at a position offset from the pick-up jack.

A system and method for enabling measurement of desired environmental criteria of an instrument during storage, including in some situations storage within a closely conforming instrument case. A humireader includes a planar body forming a 'T' with a support face. The support face enables a user to suspend and support the body between a pair of adjacent strings allowing the body to extend through a sound hole. An environment sensing system disposed within the body collects environment data of the instrument and presents it to the user using an output system (e.g., a display) that is part of the support face.
