A portable ultraviolet sanitization device is disclosed that includes a gripping portion, an ultraviolet electromagnetic radiation emitter portion, and a power source. The ultraviolet electromagnetic radiation emitter portion is disposed at a distal end of the gripping portion. The ultraviolet electromagnetic radiation emitter portion includes one or more ultraviolet light sources, such as light emitting diodes or excimer lamps. The power source is in electrical connection with the one or more ultraviolet light sources. The sanitization device is used to sanitize surfaces by eliminating viruses and other microorganisms. The sanitization device is particularly well-equipped to sanitize surfaces that are used intermittently, such as airplane cabins, restaurant seating areas, or similarly occupied spaces.

A downlight apparatus may include a canister with a canister body and a canister base comprising a female helical thread defined as an engagement host. The downlight apparatus may also include a lamp including a lamp body and a male helical ridge, defined as a lamp ridge. The lamp ridge includes a platform that extends distally from a root of the lamp ridge to a distance ranging from 2 to 20 times greater than the distance between the root and the crest of an Edison screw base thread. The lamp and the canister are structured to secure to one another when the lamp engages with the engagement host.

The circuitry is configured to provide power for and control the operation of the lighting element. The lighting element is configured to emit light in the direction of the optic. The optic is configured to reflect light so as to be emitted by the lighting component. The plurality of heat dissipating structures are positioned in thermal communication with the back wall.

Modular street lighting system

A thoroughfare lighting device includes a housing to be attached to a thoroughfare surface, and including sidewalls that taper. A plurality of light-emitting diodes (LEDs) selectively illuminate individual lanes, including a first set of LEDs to emit a generally white light, and a second set of LEDs to emit colored light that is observable by an observer. A driver circuit operates the second set of LEDs to emit colored light illuminating a single lane indicating a condition of the individual lane. Optics may be carried by the housing and positioned in optical communication with at least a portion of the plurality of LEDs. A traffic sensor communicatively coupled to the driver circuit and configured to sense a traffic pattern and generate information regarding traffic on the associated thoroughfare. The driver circuit is configured to operate the plurality of LEDs responsive to the information generated by the traffic sensor.

Street lighting device including traffic sensing and communication with observers and associated methods

A thoroughfare lighting device comprising a housing configured to be attached to a thoroughfare surface, a plurality of LEDs configured to selectively illuminate individual lanes of the thoroughfare surface, the plurality of LEDs comprising a first set of LEDs configured to emit a generally white light and a second set of LEDs configured to emit colored light that is operable to selectively emit light so as to illuminate individual lanes of the thoroughfare surface, a driver circuit configured to operate the second set of LEDs to emit a colored light indicating the condition of a first lane of the thoroughfare surface, and an optic carried by the housing and positioned in optical communication with the plurality of LEDs.

Street lighting device for communicating with observers and associated methods

A sterilization device comprising an ultraviolet (UV) electromagnetic radiation (EMR) emitting device, a detector configured to detect occupancy of a room associated with the sterilization device, and a controller operably connected to each of the UV EMR emitting device and the detector. The detector is configured to send a signal indicating occupancy to the controller upon a detection of occupancy. The controller is configured to operate the UV EMR emitting device to emit UV EMR only upon receiving a signal indicating no occupancy.

Radiated energy sterilization device and associated method

A lighting device may include a base, a housing, a driver circuit, an optic, a thermally-conductive fluid, a LED filament structure, and a fluid flow generator. The base may have an electrical contact. The housing may be attached to the base at a first end and have an internal cavity. The driver circuit may be positioned within the internal cavity and may be in electrical communication with the electrical contact. The optic may be attached to a second end of the housing and have an inner surface which may define an optical chamber. The thermally-conductive fluid may be positioned within the optical chamber. The LED filament structure may be positioned within the optical chamber and may be in electrical communication with the driver circuit. The fluid flow generator may be positioned in fluid communication with the optical chamber and may be in electrical communication with the driver circuit.

System for actively cooling an LED filament and associated methods

A thoroughfare lighting device may include a housing configured to be attached to a thoroughfare surface, having a top surface, a proximal face, a distal face, and first and second opposing sidewalls, a driver circuit, a plurality of light-emitting diodes electrically coupled to the driver circuit comprising a first set of LEDs configured to emit a generally white light, and a second set of LEDs configured to emit colored light that is observable by an observer. The lighting device may also include an optic carried by the housing and positioned in optical communication with the plurality of LEDs. The color of light emitted by the second set of LEDs may be selectable to indicate a condition of the thoroughfare in a direction of travel of the observer. Additionally, the first sidewall may taper in a direction of the distal face.

Troffer luminaire

An electrical device and method are presented, the device having an enclosure defining an interior volume sealed from the environment and an electronic lighting apparatus, which may include a heat generating element such as a light source, a heat sink, and a fluid flow generator. The heat sink may be positioned partially within the sealed interior volume and adjacent the heat generating element and transfer heat therefrom. The fluid flow generator may create a flow of fluid to transport heat away from the heat sink and to the enclosure. The electronic lighting apparatus may be carried by the enclosure and partially disposed within the interior volume of the enclosure. The electrical device may further include an optic carried by the enclosure that may cooperate with the enclosure to define the sealed interior volume.

A lighting device according to another embodiment of the invention for directing source light within a source wavelength range in a blue wavelength range in a desired output direction may comprise a MEMS device that may include a DMD that includes an array of MEMS cells, each MEMS cell including an operative surface to receive and redirect the source light towards the desired output direction. The array of MEMS cells may include first and second pluralities of MEMS cells including first and second conversion coatings applied to the operative surfaces thereof configured to convert source light into first and second wavelength ranges. Furthermore, the repositionable surface of each MEMS cell may be positionable between multiple angles to reflect the converted light. The lighting device may comprise a third plurality of MEMS cells where the operative surfaces thereof is devoid of a conversion coating, or, alternatively, comprises a third conversion coating.

A lighting fixture comprising a stationary housing and a mobile housing carried by the stationary housing is provided. The lighting fixture also includes a lens carried by the mobile housing, a first rotation mechanism operatively connected to the connection rod, and a second rotation mechanism carried by the encasing member. The connection rod may protrude at least partially through the backing of the mobile housing. The first rotation mechanism may be configured to rotate the mobile housing about a first rotational axis, and the second rotation mechanism is configured to rotate the mobile housing about a second rotational axis. The mobile housing is configured to rotate about the first rotational axis such that portions of the lens are selectively positionable below a plane defined by a lower surface of the encasing member.
