A method and apparatus for performing a mission. Information for a mission is received at a control station. The control station comprises a display system, a motion capture system, a number of user input devices, a seat associated with the number of user input devices, and a processor unit. The display system is configured to be worn on the head of an operator and to present a display to the operator. The motion capture system is configured to track movement of the head. The processor unit is configured to execute program code to generate the display and adjust the display presented to the operator in response to detecting movement of the head of the operator. The mission is performed using the information and the control station.

Method and apparatus for a virtual mission control station

A push-to-activate device is disclosed. The push-to-activate device may comprise a mounting bracket coupled to a surface, and an adjustable hinge coupled thereto. The push-to-activate device may also feature a measuring instrument coupled to the mounting bracket and a deflectable arm coupled to the adjustable hinge, wherein the deflectable arm can be engaged in a hands-free manner. A method is also disclosed which comprises providing an apparatus, the apparatus comprising a mounting bracket coupled to a surface, an adjustable hinge coupled to the mounting bracket, a measuring instrument disposed within the mounting bracket, and a deflectable arm coupled to the adjustable hinge, wherein the deflectable arm can be engaged in a hands-free manner. The method also comprises utilizing the adjustable hinge to adjust the deflectable arm to fit a size constraint of an operator.

Hands-free push-to-talk device

A placard for displaying a customer specific message includes a receiver, a capacitor, and an electronic updateable static display. The receiver has a memory storing an identification code and an antenna for receiving a signal. The capacitor is coupled to the receiver and capable of being charged by the signal. The electronic updateable static display is coupled to the receiver, is powered by the capacitor and is capable of displaying customer specific messages when a portion of the signal matches the identification code of the placard. The coupling means are conventional and the methods for affixing them are well known in to those skilled in the art. A method of using the placard for displaying a customer specific message is also provided.
