In embodiments of an audio control module (), audio data () is received from an audio data source () for output to an audio rendering device (). An initialization input () can be received from a wireless audio headset () and, responsive to receiving the initialization input, the audio data () is communicated to the audio headset. The audio that would be generated from the audio data () at the audio rendering device () is also limited, such as by replacing the audio data () with null audio data, clearing audio data packets from the audio data (), or by asserting a mute signal () to the audio rendering device.

Methods and systems are provided for clinicians in a medical environment to remotely assess the status of an asset without physically going to the specific place where the asset is located. By using sensors and special purpose rooms, the methods and systems provide an accurate view of what is going on with the asset. Furthermore, the methods and systems can be extrapolated to a patient's status (knowing if the patient is asleep or awake, or when the patient wakes up post anesthesia&#x2014;this would imply that the patient wears a tag).

A video email/message is received and an inline reply to the video email/message is generated and associated with a point during playback of the video email/message. In one embodiment, a method detects a user input for a telestration on an image being displayed on a display device and determines a plurality of image portions of the image based on the telestration. The plurality of image portions are determined by a boundary around each image portion based on the telestration. The method then determines a set of tags for the plurality of image portions. The set of tags are determined based on image recognition of content in the plurality of image portions. An operator is determined based on the telestration where the operator characterizes an operation to perform for the plurality of image portions. The method determines a search query based on applying the operator to the set of tags and causes a search to be performed using the search query.

Methods and devices are provided for identifying a caller after receiving a missed call from a calling device that is not associated with the caller. An exemplary method involves obtaining an audio message from the caller, recognizing the caller as being a first contact of the called individual by matching an audio sample associated with the first contact to at least a portion of the audio message, and graphically indicating an association between the first contact and the missed call after recognizing the first contact as the caller.

Systems and methods are provided for enhancing the video and audio capabilities of an electronic device () using a media enhancement dock (). According to certain aspects, the systems and methods enhance a field of view of a camera () with one or more optical lenses (). Three dimensional images may be captured and constructed based on images from multiple optical lenses and a shutter (). The dock may also enhance the sound captured by providing one or more far-field microphones (). A beamforming analysis of the audio signals from multiple microphones may increase the sensitivity and localization of sound. Internal and/or external light sources may be adjusted by the dock to achieve a sufficient level of ambient light in the environment. Videoconferencing and gesture control applications executing on the electronic device may be enriched through use of the media enhancement dock.

More particularly, a first algorithm will be used to choose advertisements when the advertisement opportunity duration is known, a second algorithm will be used to choose advertisements when the advertisement opportunity duration is unknown, and a third algorithm will be used to choose advertisements when the advertisement opportunity duration is variable.

A method and apparatus for operation of a node within a mobile ad hoc cognitive radio network is provided. The method includes sensing at least one assigned communications channel. Sensing at least one assigned communications channel includes measuring a value of at least one parameter corresponding to the communications channel. A method of operation of a node for multi-band communication routing within a wireless communication system comprises communicating a communication session on a default route within an identified quality of service objective on a first frequency band; broadcasting, on a second frequency band, one or more route discovery messages at each of a plurality of sets of transmission variables; storing one or more alternate route table entries in a route table, wherein each of the one or more alternate route table entries are indexed by each of the plurality of sets of transmission variables that are at least within the quality of service objective; selecting a stored alternate route that is at least within the quality of service objective of the communication session on the second frequency band; and switching the communication session to operate using the transmission variables related to the selected alternate route.
