Generally provided is a radio system that can comprise a lower-level controller, of a radio network, that is responsive to and provided at a level of hierarchy lower than an upper-level controller of the radio network, and the upper-level controller that generates a cell-level prediction of an anomaly at a first cell of a radio network based on cell-level data determined by the lower-level controller, wherein the upper-level controller generates a global prediction, based on the cell-level prediction, of propagation of the anomaly to a second cell of the radio network. The upper-level controller can generate the global prediction based on cross correlation of a first metric value, of the cell-level data, measured according to a defined metric, from the first cell and a second metric value, measured according to the defined metric, from the second cell of the radio network.

Anomaly prediction in OpenRAN mobile networks using spatio-temporal correlation

Technology described herein can employ dynamically changing network variables and/or user entity priorities to determine admission of one or more user entities to the network. In an embodiment, a system can comprise a processor, and a memory that stores executable instructions that, when executed by the processor, facilitate performance of operations. The operations can comprise analyzing resource allocation for a quality of service flow. The operations further can comprise, based on a result of the analyzing the resource allocation, determining a threshold for quality of service for user equipment at the quality of service flow, and determining a connection decision for a user equipment based on a comparison of a quality of service prediction of a quality of service level for the user equipment to the threshold.

Artificial intelligence based admission control in multi-vendor O-RAN

The described technology is generally directed towards network resource allocation for energy constrained devices. Energy constrained devices can use shortened discontinuous reception (DRX) intervals to reduce their energy consumption. In order to provide adequate quality of service (QoS) to energy constrained devices using shortened DRX intervals, a network controller can use the disclosed techniques to greedily allocate available transmission time slots to devices using shortened DRX intervals. The network controller can also apply the disclosed techniques to balance demands of other devices by allocating some transmission time slots to the other devices.

Network resource allocation for energy-constrained devices

The technology described herein is directed towards cooperative configured grant with respect to the configured grant timeslots of multiple cells, particularly for ultra-reliable low latency communications (URLLC) devices configured for packet data convergence protocol (PDCP) for duplicate packet communications. Selection of slots is delay aware with respect to PDCP communications. By selecting a first serving cell's configured grant physical resource block (PRB) time slots in a timing alignment with a second cell's configured grant PRB time slots, end-to-end PDCP delay is reduced for duplicate communications between a user equipment communicating with the first cell and the second cell for PDCP duplication. Multiple UEs can be prioritized based on their current condition data with respect to slot assignment. Also described is a controller proposing a different configuration of configured grant slots, which the controller can then use if accepted by the deciding entity.

Packet data convergence protocol duplication cooperative configured grant

Generally provided is a radio system that can comprise an upper-level controller that analyzes data comprising first data from a radio network source and second data from an external source that is disposed external to the radio network, and a lower-level controller that is responsive to and provided at a lower level of hierarchy of the radio network than the upper-level controller, where the lower-level controller identifies the first data from the radio network source, and where the upper-level controller classifies, based on the analysis, whether an anomaly, determined to be occurring in a radio network comprising the radio system, is caused by the radio network. The upper-level controller can correlate the first data from the radio network source and the second data from the external source to metrics defining the anomaly.

Mobile network anomaly classification using multi-domain data correlation

The described technology is generally directed towards fast radio access network (RAN) parameter control for cellular communication networks. Example methods can use a radio intelligent controller (RIC) in a core network to adjust parameters used for cellular communications between a RAN and user devices. The RIC and RAN components can apply a set of actions to adjust the parameters more quickly and with less overhead than, e.g., adjustment of radio resource control (RRC) parameters. Parameters adjusted according to the techniques herein can include downlink control information (DCI) parameters and medium access control (MAC) control element (CE) parameters.

Fast radio access network parameter control

The described technology is generally directed towards location selection for disaggregated radio access network (RAN) network functions. Disaggregated RAN network functions include, for example, RAN distributed units (DUs) and RAN central units (CUs) that are associated with RAN cells and RAN radio units (RUs). When multiple viable equipment locations are available, of equipment that can host DUs and/or CUs, the disclosed techniques can be used to select preferred location(s). The DU(s) and/or the CU(s) can be moved to equipment at the selected location(s) to improve network performance. Disclosed techniques can account for inter-cell delay requirements of different RAN cells, to place network functions in a manner that supports effective coordination between multiple cells.

Location selection for disaggregated radio access network functions

The described technology is generally directed towards adaptive radio access network bit rate scheduling. Minimum bit rates for user equipment can be adjusted in a manner that accounts for the impact of the minimum bit rates on network performance. Ranges of minimum bit rates can be established for user equipment, and minimum bit rates can be adjusted within the ranges. A minimum bit rate can be decreased when it produces a relatively higher impact on network performance, and the minimum bit rate can be increased when it produces a relatively lower impact on network performance.

Adaptive radio access network bit rate scheduling

The described technology is generally directed towards cellular network tuning using secondary system feedback. Network equipment can monitor both network performance and secondary system feedback indicative of secondary equipment performance. The secondary equipment can comprise customer manufacturing, processing, or other equipment. The secondary equipment performance can be correlated with network performance such as by correlating secondary equipment performance degradations with degradations of one or more network performance indicators. Network parameters can be adjusted in view of the observed correlation, to produce performance improvements of the secondary equipment.

Cellular network tuning using secondary system feedback

The described technology is generally directed towards interference avoidance for cellular networks. A controller can estimate intercell interference and provide recommendations of preferred time slots that can be used by cell schedulers to avoid intercell interference. The controller can leverage sporadic traffic of neighboring cells by identifying time slots at which traffic demand likely to result in intercell interference. The controller can then guide schedulers at cells to send data in a manner that mitigates intercell interference.

Interference avoidance for cellular networks

The described technology is generally directed towards time division duplex (TDD) pattern configuration for cellular networks. Example methods can calculate TDD pattern configurations for use in 5G and subsequent generation networks. TDD pattern configurations can be calculated based on traffic demand, which can be estimated based on data channel demands, control channel requirements, user equipment (UE) capabilities, UE radio frequency (RF) conditions, and/or target quality of service (QoS) levels. Time offsets between downlink (DL) and uplink (UL) transmissions can be adjusted to meet service latency requirements and hardware limitations. Cells can opportunistically adopt different TDD patterns according to their individual traffic demands using semi-static and dynamic TDD pattern reconfiguration.

Time division duplex pattern configuration for cellular networks

The described technology is generally directed towards secondary cell group selection in the context of a dual connectivity based approach to providing cellular service via private cellular networks. In a dual connectivity arrangement, network traffic can be transported via a master cell group (MCG) provided by a private cellular network, and the network traffic can alternatively be transported via a secondary cell group (SCG) provided by a public cellular network. Network equipment can use the techniques disclosed herein to select an SCG from among candidate SCGs, where the candidate SCGs use different frequency bands having different complementary characteristics with respect to the MCG.

A network node and a method for a network node to allocate wireless resources among a plurality of radio access technologies, RATs, are provided. The method includes determining a quality requirement based at least on a historical wireless resource allocation and allocating wireless resources among the plurality of 5 RATs based at least on the determined quality requirement. Quality of service driven spectrum sharing

A method, system and apparatus for sharing of physical random access channel (PRACH) resources between New Radio (NR) and Long Term Evolution (LTE) radio access technologies (RATs) are disclosed. According to one aspect, a network node is provided. The network node includes processing circuitry configured to: receive a physical random access channel, PRACH, signal from a wireless device; correlate the PRACH signal with one of at least two orthogonal sequences from a common set of sequences shared among a first radio access technology, RAT, and a second RAT; and determine whether the wireless device is operating according to one of the first RAT and the second RAT based at least in part on the correlation.
